This was the first Parador on our 7 stay trip in the Rioja and Navarra regions of Northern Spain. Although the hotel is modern it is wonderfully located on a hillside overlooking Soria, but within just a few minutes easy walk to the toen centre.

Modern light rooms with enclosed balcony looking over countryside. Comftable beds. Minibar and flat screen TV, standard Parador bathroom but with bidet. Bath but a hand shower which did not function as stand-up shower inspite of fittings - this should be rectified, in such hot climates many prefer to take a shower.

Restaurant and menu excellent. Breakfast about average for Paradors.

Service always friendly.

Soria is a very pleasant town buzzing with life during the day. The hotel is on a hill high above the town with amazing views over Soria,the river and surrounding countryside. The hotel is found quite easily by following signs from the town & is set in a very beautiful wooded area. The Parador was built in the 1960's & I'm not sure planning would be granted now as it is a bit of a blot on the landscape. The hotel is within walking distance of the town but it's a steep walk back! The reception staff are very helpful & polite especially one young man who spoke very good english. The room was spacious, clean, quiet & comfortable. The restaurant staff were good & the breakfast buffet excellent but dinner was disappointing. The main course grilled steak served cold with nothing else on the plate. Although we were booked on a dinner bed & breakfast rate this did not include desert or it seems vegetables. The walk along the river is good & about 3/4 of an hour's drive away is a beautiful area called in english The Black Lagoon which is well worth a visit. I would recommend this hotel to a friend but one night is enough. Unfortunately we were staying two nights!

Unusually for a Parador, this one was a new build but there were some old ruins dotted about so that's OK! Nicely located above the town of Soria in an attractive park with excellent views. Very nice large room with comfortable large twin beds pushed together, masses of storage, small balcony, tv, air con, mini bar, wi-fi, safe, classy bathroom with all the necessary and good quality fittings. Free internet access in the lobby, comfortable bar & nice restaurant. Had an excellent supper and good buffet breakfast.
