“Location, location location!”

We came here for a few days in October, this being our third visit to Albellons. The situation is simply sublime. The drive of the last few kilometres hightens ones anticipation! You drive through Binibona, leave the houses behind and travel along a narrow road before tuning left and wending your way upwards through olive groves until the lovely honey-coloured buildings seem to grow out of the landscape above you. Your hosts and all the staff are friendly and helpful at all times. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the rooms themselves are very cool, clean and comfortable (there is air con should you need it). Our room in the main building had the most wonderful view down the valley towards Campanet and beyond to Buger, as well as an enchanting winding staircase up to our own roof terrace with the same view. We woke in the morning , opened the shutters , it was breathtaking! It just felt as if we had been transported away to a very special place. You must go here if you like to be in a remote and beautiful place surrounded by mountains, trees, birds, with plenty of opportunities for walking and observing wildlife, or just relaxing by a beautiful pool.
You will be staying in an area that has been touched little by tourism of any sort, and such as there is has been in the development of traditional buildings and ways of life in Mallorca. Anyone of a creative disposition, say a writer or painter will revel in the peace, tranquility and atmosphere here. Discos and nightclubs are NOT the order of the day at Albellons. One of our enduring memories of this lovely place is dining outside on the terrace, looking down the valley and being seranaded by the nightingales! Heaven!

“Idyllic location, charming staff, a little paradise”

From the initial telephone booking through to departure, nothing was too much trouble. We booked one day before (and lucky to get the last room) with an extra bed arranged for our son. Juan provided an excellent light lunch as we arrived weary from overnight travel. The drive up to the hotel through the national park was beautiful. The views from the terrace and pool area were amazing - with birds of prey circling over the nearby mountains. A four course set dinner set out on the terrace with starched linen tablecloths and views of the valley. A more romantic setting you could not wish to find. A set menu each day with an excellent selection of fresh local produce. Buffet breakfast - plus a choice of eggs - was served in the same efficient friendly manner. Tranquil pool area with goats wandering in the next field and an 'honesty bar' to serve your own drinks. Stayed three days at the Albellons and didn't want to leave. As it was fully booked managed to get a room in the Binibona (sister hotel that has tennis court and indoor pool and larger outdoor pool) and stayed two more nights. Looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

“Best Rural Hotel in Mallorca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

The hotel in general
The Finca Albellons Parc Natural offers nothing less than a superb mountain retreat for those of us seaking silence and high quality. Size of the hotel, service and operation suits international travelers who know the differenece between main stream high quality and the extraordinary. Cleanliness is to the highest standards; all rooms, public areas and facilities are daily cleaned. Breakfast is a culinaric highlight with local specialities as well as anything any continental /classical mediteranian morning meal should consist of. If lunch is required can this be ordered - and composed in accordance with any preference. Dinner is "mandatory" and highly recomendable - the kitchen is l the best in the area: local Mallorcan with a touch of grand gastronomique!
The average guest is quality minded Northern Europeans / Scandinavians, most couples in the age +30-60. Many has spent several vacations here.

Location and surroundings
You will be met with a genuine warm smile, and everone you encounter will do their outmost to make sure you feel most welcome. The management and staff speaks perfect English, German and Spanish (in all variations). Room cleaning is superb with clean towels daily and bedding weekly, or when required. If laundry is needed can this be provided by the staff with services delivered forom a nearby village. Doctors appointent can be arranged if required.

Service
Service is professional, personal and most friendly. We have never needed to raise any complaints, but are most confident that if needed would this have been handeled immedeately by the staff and to our full satisfaction. To avoid misunderstandings about the service level: Just kindly ask, the management and staff will do anything to make sure your requirements are fullfilled. If it s a Mojito, GT or bottle of white Mortitx by the pool - just tell so and it will be there, with a smile, in an eye blink.

Gastronomy
The Kitchen is along with the location and surroundings one of the main attractions at Hotel Albellons. Mallorca boasts native raw materials of the highest quality with an extraordinary flavour that gives its cuisine its character and value. It would not be exaggerating to say that Mallorca’s cuisine as expressed at Albellons is one of the most spectacular we have experienced in Mallorca. Many meals over the years have demonstrated grand gastronomique on the Michelin level.

The country cooking, with simple dishes, or its rural cuisine, with recipes often passed down from one generation to the next, give the local dishes their identity. Mallorcan cooking as eaten over seeing Binibona and Campanet is not only a cuisine rooted in the land and its products, it also has a cultural element tied in with the local history. Enjoying the view - the delisious tastes brings it all to a complete perfect experience.

Everyday cooking is basic and simple, typically Mediterranean, but full of imagination with sometimes artistic creations or as simple as bread with olive oil – but uniquely exquisite and with a Baroque sumptuousness.

The rich breakfast buffet is the perfect start to the day: typical ensaimadas (a pastry), coffee, milk, various types of cheese, cold meats, sobrasada (Mallorcan sausage), fruit, cereal, honey, eggs (as requested), bread, jam and delicious cocas de albaricoque (a pastry). At lunchtime, you can enjoy something light: Paella, Salad, pa amb olí (bread with a spread of tomato and olive oil accompanied by different kinds of cold meats, jamón serrano, cheese, etc.), tortilla española and much more. What would you like? The kitchen is at your service. For dinner you have the daily presented menue with various typical Mallorcan dishes, such as hare with onions, fish from the oven, arroz brut (a rice dish), tumbet (a vegetable dish), rack of lamb, pork or barbecue dishes. Alternatively, you can choose to eat at neighbouring Hotel Binibona.

Mallorca has 33 wine cellars. Look forward to learn to know the treasures of Hereus de Ribas, Miquel Oliver, Vinyes Mortitx, and Bodegas Anima Negra.

Things to do
We have spent many days in the mountains around Campanet and towards Lluc. Most peaks have no been climbed and many paradisic views discovered. Bring good shooes, ruck sack/camel-back and a good map. Alternatives are plenty for fantastic tracking. Bicycles can be loaned from the hotel and roads on the Northern Mallorca are some of the best in Europe for bicycle training (many professional teams go here!). There is a tennis court at Binibona free for use, training room and a in-door swimming pool. Out-door pool at Albellons is clear and very well kept. Sunbeds, screens, showers, towels etc are to the highest expectations.

Rooms
Over the years have we tried the spacious doubbles and suites. The large suits has become our favourite, with a good bathroom, lounge area, excellent bed and super effective air conditioning. The TV has mostly German channals, but also a few UK , French and international (a few more English would have been fine). Minibar is re-filled daily. Coffee kettle, safe and telephone. Internet is available by wireless (best signal around the resturant balcony area). Cleanliness is is flawless and very good all over the entire hotell. Fresh flowers and leafs in the rooms, daily!

Telecommunication and media
Mobile phone has good access from most of the hotel, but best on the front side, and around the resturant balcony area. Best time to travel is "anytime": this site and Mallorca has adventures hidden all year around. Weather is as good as guaranteed in July-August. Due to the hight above sea and the narrowness of the vally (slight air/windy mmovement) does it never feel uncomfortable warm at Albellons. The value for money is the best - the experienced traveler who know the difference between "quality and quality" will find the perfect sanctuary here at Albellons. The sad thing is that we hate to tell anyone about it, we would like to still keep it among our self - this is the best rural hotel you can imagine! Welcome to Hotel Albellons!

Closing
If you want a beach holliday, sangria and snorkel shops: Alcudia might be a better alternative. Those who actively choose Finca Albellons Parc Natural go here because of the remoteness and quiet surroundings. Wake up before the birds and insects and hear the meditative tranquilizing sound of goats and sheeps in the hills above the Finca. See the sun rising over the hilly lowland, hear the birds start their morning song, and prepare for a Michelin breakfast. Albellons situation in the Serra Tramuntana makes this ideal for tracking and climbing entusiasts. For those seaking privacy and discretion: it could'nt be better. Use two days to adjust to the slow and pleasing atmosphere and let the creeping senzation of vacation take over. Business back home will feel very far, far away afer only a few days. Store that feeling in your soul! Thats why you will find your way back here...next year, and the year after....
Shopping can be done in any of the neighbouring towns or villages. Palma is only a 30 minutes drive away.

“A most relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

We have stayed at Albellons Parc Natural on three occasions and on each occasion the service, accommodation and food have been of a high standard.
To be able to have breakfast on the terrace looking down the valley towards Moscari and Campanet whilst the sun is shining makes for a great way to start the day. Then to have dinner as dusk is approaching looking out over the countryside and listening to the call of the many different birds makes for a perfect end to the day.
The Vincens family and their team take the philosophy that 'my house is your house' to a very high level as nothing is too much trouble for them and their objective seems to be to make their guests' stay at Albellons Parc Natural as pleasant as possible.
Would we recommend this hotel? If you are looking for a totally relaxed atmosphere, good food and accommodation and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside then definitely, YES.

“Wonderful Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2008

We recently needed accommodation for one night for us and our two children. The reception was both friendly and relaxed and they are deservadly proud of their establishment.

We were so impressed with the whole place, the drive up sets the scene with beautifully tended plants and hedges trimmed neatly. Even the goats were beautiful!

We stayed in the suite which is set aside from the main building and had its own terrace which we sat out on at sunset with the delicious complimentary bottle of wine.

A little chilly to try out the pool but we all sat in the sauna and appreciated the views and the setting amongst the mountains.

The breakfast was certainly one of the best we had ever had, served outside to take in the stunning views again.

The suite was expensive but with its own sitting room and enourmous bathroom we agreed it very good value for money for our family of four. We reluctantly left the next day but said we would return another day........
