The hotel is situated on a main street, although this is convenient it has its drawbacks. Scooters are constantly buzzing up and down the main street that without an air conditioned room the buzz can be hectic for those that must leave their windows open at night . althogh air conditioning was included with our room, (we had the large room for six) opening the windows was too noisy at times, but we got used to it. Many hotels seem to claim internet point included, but sometimes I wonder what this really means. we had to pay for internet use. Computers are a bit outdated, and wireless is not available, our netbook was of no use here. On our last two days, Orange juice and few other things were missing in our breakfast, and we had to request them. Did they forget or just cutting costs?

Our week at the Hotel Carmencita was delightful. Our room was quiet, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. Mario and Colomba were especially nice and helpful. Mario very kindly drove us back to the port at a busy time in the hotel, having organized early breakfast. The hotel is so central in the town that we could walk to tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. The bus stop for going to Capri town (and visiting other attractions like the Villa Jovis) is very near the hotel.
We have already recommended the hotel to friends and we are hoping to return next year!

When we arrived at the hotel, the grumpy old manger couldn`t find our reservation. When we finally got a room, it was like going back to a dodgy 70`s movie. We asked if it was possible to turn on the aircondition, but this had a cost of 12 euros. The manger tought we should pay this, since we had orderd our room through a website. He ment that it was our fault that the webiste took a big charge for the reservation!
This hotel and staff defiantly needs a upgrade.

We stayed at the Carmencita Hotel in AnaCapri in August 2009 and had a fabulous time. Capri is a beautiful island and was the highlight of our holiday. The hotel is easy to get to and in an ideal location in the centre of AnaCapri. AnaCapri is only minutes away from Marina Grande, Marina Piccolo and Capri and has a much less commercial feel about it. The hotel has lovely facilities - a great swimming pool, which has a built in spa, with very reasonably priced bar and snack facilities available all day. The breakfast was delicious - the smell of the freshly baked croissants was enough to get us out of bed in the mornings! The most outstanding part of our stay was the warm and friendly welcome we had from the family who own and run the hotel. They go out of their way to make sure you have a good holiday. The owners were so generous to us, even after our stay - I left a coat at the hotel and they kindly sent it back to me in the UK. This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed at and I would really recommend it to anyone.
