“We came, we saw, we left”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

The room was worse than my college freshman dorm. You would have to be skinny and short to use the shower. When we heard it was too overcast to see the Blue Grotto, we left and went back to Positano.
Capri is very bust and touristy. If you are going to go, plan on doing it on a day when it is sunny; don't make plans in advance.

Dear Sirs,
We have been very sorry for what happened. Be reassured that, if told, would have going out of our way to resolve the matter and accommodate you in any way possible.
Our Albergo has two sets of distinctive rooms, well described and publicized: A. Standard, a spacious room with a terrace and beautiful view of the sea, B. Economy room, situated in the internal part of the building with no view or terrace and priced accordingly(by people who wish to spend some time on the island but have a limited budget)
We like to remind that you reserved an Economy room, possibly without reading the description or looking at the photos on the web. There is no doubt that if you, instead of leaving the Albergo without notice, had communicated with us, we would have, if it was available, given you a better room with terrace and view as it has been our way to make our guests always happy.
Allow us to add that we do our work with a lot of dedication and passion. This is a small local family Albergo, a dream of ours to create a humble but well designed space reflecting the colors, the nature and the aroma of the island in one of the most genuine neighborhood away from tourists and in harmony with the daily life of local people.
I hope you would give us another opportunity, we don’t promise every day sun but we give you our warm hospitality.
We wish you the very best
Vincezo Pane

“Clean, tidy, quiet safe bet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

We recently stayed here for three nights. The rooms were clean and tidy with great aircon! The views were ok from the hotel overlooking some of Anacapris' residential area. The centre of Anacapri was a short walk away and the bus stop for Capri, Faro (sunbathing spot) and the Blue Grotto was just up the steps. The service was good, ask any questions and your are given the correct info in a polite manner. In summary it is a reasonable valued base from which to see the island. They do the basics very well. P.S. The Blue Grotto experience was a touristy rip off!

“Very Good B&B”

We stayed for 10 days. Bliss.
The location is excellent. It is just off a main bus stop. It is quiet - about 50M from the street. The stairs are easy to navigate. I'm 68.
The room was larger than average with high ceilings, exceptionally clean, and well serviced.
The large patio area was very quiet and sunny. Each room has its own private patio area, that is screened off.
Friendly atmosphere. We met, chat and ate with some of the guests. It has a very social atmosphere. Most of the guests were from Europe with a small number from North America.
Friendly and helpful staff. I can't say enough for these kind and service oriented-people. (They don't suck up to you, either).
The breakfasts were very good, lots of fruits and cakes and muesli.

“good location, nice room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2011

The hotel is very well maintained. It looks modern with a local charm. There is always someone at the reception 24/7.
The room 2 was nice and large, the double bed mattress was firm, recent and good. The room was very clean. The room has an access to a small patio (semi private) where we could relax and read books and enjoy the sun.
The bathroom was also very well done, despite having only a shower. A bath would have been better.

On the negative side:
- We arrived in April and it was cold and cloudy. Because the hotel relies on solar panels, the hot water was mostly cold. We have been struggling under the shower! However, as soon as the sun came out, the water was very hot.
- The hotel has ceramic floor everywhere. It makes it quite noisy from the inside. You can hear people in the hallway and doors. However, at night when everybody is at sleep, it was fine. You can't hear anything from outside (road, planes...)
- Breakfast is Ok but not amazing. Only very few choice and quite basic. No fresh juices, not much cold meat and a very limited choice of jam.

Overall, it is a nice hotel, very well located to explore the island. However, for hotel of that price, you expect hot water all day long, whatever the weather outside, so we had a very mixed experience.

Room Tip: Not bad hotel but could do better

“Would stay here again.”

I read some mixed reviews so I was a little hesitant to book this place as the price was a lot lower than many other hotels in Capri. However, I needn't have worried. The place was great! It was clean, bright, we had our own balcony and the breakfast every morning was abundant. One note though, even if you ask for cappucino you'll get caffe latte - this is very different from the latte's you may be used to from Starbucks, it's just warm milk and coffee, but it's still very good.
I really liked the location. It was convenient to the buses that would take you to any of the other locations you're likely to go (Marina Grande, Capri, Faro or the Grotto Azurro). The owners were wonderful and very helpful. It had Internet that worked beautifully.
I liked staying in Anacapri instead of Capri. It was much quieter and there were fewer people in Anacapri. Getting to Capri was pretty easy, just hop on the bus for 1.4 euros. At the time we went - the last week of August - it was very crowded, mostly with Italian tourists so most of the buses were packed full most of the time. You can go to Capri for dinner and to walk the streets, which we did. The buses run back to Anacapri all night so you don't need to worry about getting stuck there.
