“Excellent location for Europa park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

We just got back from 2 nights staying at the hotel El Andaluz at the Europa Park resort. We arrived early and checking in was painless, every member of reception staff I spoke to was very friendly and spoke very good English. We were there too early to drop our bags off in the room but the hotel provide a locker room so we could go straight to the park. The park can be accessed just by walking through the back of the courtyard (at the time of visiting the park opened some rides 30 mins before the park officially opened, for hotel guests). You get stamped with an invisible stamp so you can walk in and out of the park as many times as you want, although I was a little worried some of the water rides would eventually wear this off.

The hotel itself is based around an attractive courtyard with outdoor pool and consists of several bars and restaurants. Our room was big, with sofa, table, 2 chairs, flatscreen cable tv, table, desk and double bed and the bathroom clean and spacious. My only gripes with the room were the bed, although perfectly comfortable, did creak a lot every time you moved and our room had a little cupboard with a key in which I presumed was a safe. Only after some minutes of jiggling the key trying to get it out of the lock did I realise it was for decoration only and not meant to come out!

The breakfast buffet was excellent, a wide choice of foods to suit all tastes. We ate other meals in the park which we were also impressed with.

We timed our visit well (end of September) as the park wasn't very crowded, the longest we had to wait for any ride at the busiest time of day was about 10 minutes.

Would definatley recommend.

“BEST LOCATION AND VERY GOOD SURPRISE OF THE QUALITY OF THIS 4 STARS HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

My wife and our 2 kids (4 years old and 10 years old) spent 3 days / 2 nights in Europa Park, staying in Hotel Castillo Alcazar. We were in the room number 789, 7th floor with direct view on the park. I must say that we have been positively surprised by the quality of this hotel, of the restaurants, of the food, of location of the hotel being so close to Europa Park entrance (2-3 minutes by foot !) and by the cleanliness. The room was big enough for the 4 of us, quiet and had even a small balcony.
However, the beds were in wood and very noisy when we were moving ! This made our nights unconfortable as every mouvement in the bed were making so much noise that it was waking us up, especially with the kid sleeping on the highest bed, where the lateral protection (for the kid not to fall) was slashing every time our kid was touching or pushing it during his sleep...

So, to resume our stay :

Positive points :

1) location of the hotel is just perfect as very close to the entrance of Europa Park
2) free parking for cars
3) restaurants are very good looking, clean and have a lot of choices
4) swimming pool is warmed at 25 degrees Celsius and very enjoyable
5) balcony in the room and large TV screen

Negative points :

1) the beds are very noisy as made of wood and reacting to every single movement
2) expect a lot of people during week end, especially if good weather conditions
3) staff hardly speak good english
4) avoid to eat outside breakfast/dinner hours as the choices will be reduced and of lower quality
5) people are smoking when in lines, making the queue to access attractions, it's not acceptable with kids around and for non smoker like us, total no respect !

Well that's it. I would definitively recommend to stay in this hotel, even if for our next trip we will change the hotel to see something new and different.

Enjoy your stay :-)

“Little comfort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

I stayed here for 2 nights in august 2010. The hotel looks great from the outside and inside.
But once in the room you get dissapointed. No tub, no chairs. Only a 2 wooden stools.
You would expect for this amount of money to find some comfort in your room but none of that.
The room is nicely decorated and the breakfast is simply great.
I will not stay here again, i would like to sit in a chair and relax a bit.
It's hard to relax in this room after a day in the themepark.

“Great hotel, excellent food and inside Europa Park”

I just came yesterday from this hotel. Our experience was so great that posting this review is the fisrt thing I'm doing after being back home. Europa Park is great but statying in this hotel made the experience even much better. You have early access to the park and can access it through a exclusive entrance or via the monorail.
We check-in Saturday morning, left our bags in a storage the hotel has, went to the park and came back around 7pm. Our room was very nice, it had a bunker for my 2 daughters!!!
Food was great!! Parking lot was big and free, great service and during breakfast characters of the park come and sit with you.
Amazing hotel ... already planning our next trip!!
