Living in Luxembourg, nearby Hotel Dollenberg is very popular among families for week-end trips to the Black Forest. My own family has gone there for years but stopped 10 years ago after a series of negative experiences. I wanted to know by myself and I just come back after 3 nights passed at the hotel with my kids. Result: very disappointing and even enraging. The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are OK to very fine, although many of them are impested with kitchen smell. The personnel is charming, respectful and very attentive. But that's about it. The pool which looks great on pictures is a small pond heated at 33°C and infested with chlorine; my two kids had severe eye irritation after visiting it once for 10 minutes. Half-board kitchen is clearly below average and strongly feels like "let's nourish the crowd". The one-star Michelin gastronomical restaurant gave it the rest. Two of the nine people attending the dinner were diagnosed the day after with nutritional infection and had to stay in bed with high fever. Although we tried to have an open discussion with the hotel management, it reacted agressively without measure, attacked us orally in public and called us all imaginable names. Never again.

The location, the food, the entertainment, the staff, the rooms, the swimmingpool area,...
everything is excellent.
Probably, the best hotel in the world ... and we have been to many 5* hotels.

We(my wife and my douchter of 10) visit this hotel twice. The perfect place in the Black Forest and even in Germany. It have everything you want.
Confort and luxery what you want for a 5star hotel, but with a lot more.....
The staff is very friendly, by arriving a welcome drink whyle they park your car on the parking. luxery rooms with all the comfort you want. very nice pool, sauna, whirlpool, steambath, fitness room, relaxarea al for free.
Beautyfarm and massage. In the mornig your coffee is ready near the pool free of charge.They organice every walking trips in the area, sometimes with free lunch. Take half-board and every night you have a five-cours dinner(not a buffet!) with fantastic food. The price of the winelist is resonable from € 19 a bottle with a lot of choice.Every 2 weeks there is a kitchen party: type of walking dinner in the kitchen where you can choose from at least 15 different disches made by the cooks minute maid.They organice weekly differt theme dinners inside or autside during the summer. There is a a la carte restaurant who have a michelin *, twice a week you can dinner there for the half price if you booked half-board, the food is extraordinary in a nice setting.The hotel is in a very quite setting on a hillside and have 75 rooms.A hotel to embrace!!Last but not least, the hotel belong tho the Relais&Chateaux group and not soo expensive as you think around € 250 for half-board for us three, realy value for money.
