It didn't look that bad and it was just for one night. We checked in and got our key. Went to our room and noticed that there was a sock sticking out from under the bed. That was a red flag to us that this was NOT a clean room. We went down to the lobby and waited for over twenty minutes for someone on staff to report the problem. We only saw one person the whole time and they said they didn't work there. We were there for a family celebration and were quite late at that point. So we left a note for them about the room and we would like to have it straightened out but had to leave and we would see them later that night. We arrived back and there was someone at the desk. They apologized for assigning us a room that had not been cleaned. Rather than clean the room they assigned us a new room. They gave us a key to a new room so I went and got our bags and took them to the new room. The key wouldn't open the door, it was a card so I tried several times, it wasn't unusual. It was unusuall until a woman's voice from inside the room worriedly asked what I was trying to do. I was floored. I apologized and explained the mixup and left. We talked to the front desk guy and they were sold out. So was every other place around. We actually had to change the beds ourselves or sleep in the car, what a choice! The front desk was no help at all. They did apologize the next morning and told us they weren't going to charge us but I already knew that the card payment was being cancelled. The woman from the previous day was there and was an employee, she had lied to us. I would never consider staying in this hotel again even if all the hotels close by were sold out, it would be worth any drive not to stay here again!
