What a wonderful place to stay! Very clean, close to the best beach in Aruba and friendly service. Great value for the money.
Before booking the Sasaki Apartments, we read a lot of positive reviews here on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Since the price is reasonable we didn’t have high expectations, but this was way worse than any hotel we’ve ever stayed at.
We knew that the place was built years back, but was supposed to be clean. Not really. On the floor we found lots of long dark hair which was so disgusting. We told our 3-year-old not to play on the floor. I didn’t take of my flip flops once.
The bed cover and blanket didn’t look that nice and were taken off immediately. The bedside lamps were very dated and curtains as well.
In the kitchen, the ceiling lamp seems to have had better days and should’ve been replaced long ago. The microwave would have been a great nostalgia from the 80’s, if that’s what we wanted. The shelves in the fridge were full of rust and kept us awake the whole night by sounding like two jumbo jets passing by.
The bathroom area included a safe with no lock (we could probably get one in the reception, but didn’t get the information), a rusty tissue holder that they didn’t even bother filling up.
What really made us tip over the edge was the sign which said “Please don’t throw toilet paper in the wc” and the only option for this was throwing the toilet paper in an open bin with a transparent plastic bag in it. After going to the reception asking about it, an older lady was really ignorant letting me know that if everyone threw it in the wc, it would’ve caused a stop in the pipes. That meant absolutely no privacy to us, staying at three different places at previous stays (most of them small) in Aruba and never heard anything alike.
Our planned seven nights stay turned out to be only a one night stay.
Disliked: Basically everything, including having to pay for an extra night without staying there
Liked: Checking out!
Located 200 yards off the main road and about 1/2 mile from the north end of Eagle Beach, Saski Appts is a bargain if you don't mind being away from town or a mile from the full activities of the beach life. These are clean but simple apartments. Wi-fi is free and works well. TV, older refrigerator & small microwave & toaster in each room. Beach towels are NOT provided. The pool area is very nice and looks ljust like the puctures posted on tripadvisor. Mostly quiet there were
a couple of mornings some dogs in the area were barking. You can easily walk to Eagle Beach from here but there are no side walks you walk on the shoulder of the road. We had a car during our 1week stay here & I would recommend that you have one. Driving here is very easy. There are no restaurants close to Sasaki Appts. There is a simple bakery & a decent grocery store about 200 yards away. The front desk staff were always helpful.
area were barking.
Stayed in May 2010, paid about $90 per night after all taxes and fees. Despite my best efforts was not able to haggle for a better rate which is somewhat rare in Aruba. Still, price was fair. Very clean, safe, quiet. Pool was perfectly clean and always empty. Free internet worked well with password supplied by front office. BBQ's are clean and fairly priced but aren't useable (gas and charcoal) because of the constant Aruban wind. There is no gym. Eagle beach is about 10 mins away walking and 1 min away driving. Free parking on site. Overall the place is excellent considering the price. Its just a clean apartment in a safe area thats close to most everything. Not your typical deluxe resort on the beach but definitely worth it.
