“Had a nice 3 night stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

My wife stayed at this hotel for 3 nights early January. Was updraded to a "panoramic" room with a large balcony and 'private' spa.

Room was big and comfortable - no complaints.
Service and food were ok too althought the hotel (like most of the other hotels at the Dead Sea) mainly serve Israeli corporate clients/organized Israeli company workers deals.

Although it was the first week of January, the weather was great (well it is usually so at that area all year round).

Would stay again.

“Decent but lacking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Lets start with the good. We stayed for a weekend and the food for the most part was very really good.. The rooms were large , clean and the amenities replenished every day. No problem asking for another pillow or towel. I liked the fact that there was a separate shower and bathtub.

One reviewer wrote that it was more of a cooperate hotel and they are correct. Almost everyone in the hotel was part of some conference. Not a place for little kids at least not in the winter.

My wife was disappointed that the outdoor swimming pool was not heated and which was far too cold for her almost daily swim.

There are two spas. The difference is that there are free hot drinks, fruit and cookies, and the chairs are more comfortable. The charge for the VIP spa was about $25 a day unless you ordered a treatment . Just by accident I found a staircase outside my room which led me directly to the spa so... That being said I would not have paid extra for it.

Conclusion; A good hotel, but there are others in the area which are just as good so check prices.

Room Tip: Try getting a corner room some of them have a large balcony - ask .

“The height of good hotels at the lowest place on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

There was little to be unhappy about the room...It was five stars. The hotel has a dead sea water pool that one can use on days when the outside weather does not allow swimming in the Dead Sea....Loved it!

I had asked for extra pillows and hangers in my original reservation months before...They were in the room at check-in. Fantastic!

The only complaint I can offer was that our room phone seemed incapable of reaching out and touching anybody...It rang...but no-one answered.

The Rimonim chain gives guests one free hour of internet use in the lobby which one can access via a code given to anyone who is staying at the hotel and asks at the front desk.

In Israel good Kibbutzim hotels supply free internet access while a chain of the quality of the Dan Group or of the lesser quality (but still quite good) Leonardo Group take your skin off for the privilege of using WiFi. So it is real plus that the Rimonim hotels provide free internet access despite the fact that there is a time limit

Room Tip: Get a room facing the sea if you can...

“VIP Spa”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Only because of the VIP spa will I recommend this hotel.
The hotel could use some renovation and general cleanup. I loved the bathroom with tub and a separate shower. Never stayed in a room with 4 telephones! I didnt like the lobby setup, there was no place to sit quietly and speak with friends as the lobby is adjacent to the (extremely turned up volume) entertainment area. The food was very good, we had 1/2 board. Try not to go to the alternate dining area. Insist if you must, that you will wait for a table in the regular area. The hotel was fully booked. Our initial room was on the 7th floor at the front of the hotel. It was so noisy at night that we couldnt sleep and we requested another room that the hotel graciously arranged on the 12th floor - this made a big difference! The staff is most professional and attentive. If you order a picnic lunch for the last day...start checking a few hours prior to your departure.
Make sure the connecting door to the next suite is locked. We asked to put towels under those doors to keep out conversation from adjoining room.
If we return it will only be due to the VIP Spa, we have stayed in other hotels in the area that, in general, were much nicer.

Room Tip: Upper floor

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011 via mobile

While the location is good, the hotel is not at all worth the money - not clean, poor service, no indoor pool (only spa, where kids are not allowed). The hotel is focused on serving Israeli corporate clients, not individual tourists.
