Hotel was sub-par in all respects. One of the elevators was broken and the others kept skipping the 7th floor where our room was! Had to get off at 6 and walk up with our bag. Bathroom was not clean. With a notation that the water was not drinkable in the bathroom one would expect a bottle of water to brush your teeth. Nope. None of that provided either.

We arrived at sundown, and all spa facilities were already closed. Went into the Dead Sea for a float (in the dark...) Then went to bed. Tried to check out at 7:30am to get an early start to Masada, but the rude front desk clerk wouldn't let us go because she said there was a $110 charge from the bar on my bill. It took till 8am and LOTS of arguing to get out of there and get them to find their mistake. Hotel was recommended by the tour company I used,Avitours, which I wouldn't recommend to ANYONE either. If we go back to Israel we will find a better tour company, better hotel and hopefully have a better experience!

  • Disliked — The front desk staff, the hours of spa operation, the lack of cleanliness

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was just fine. The hotel is right on the beach - which I really wanted (so I could dash out for a swim before breakfast etc - as it got too hot later in the day). A lot of hotels in Ein Botek are a bit of a walk from the beach, which would be very inconvenient. The hotel also has an inside (dead sea water) pool and lovely outside (freshwater pool). It is just a shame they they both closed early in the evening - just when we wanted to use them!
The buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant was good. The buffet breakfast was fine and had a good choice. We used room service one night for dinner, (as we had our baby with us) which was tasty and good value. The room was clean and had a great view of the Dead Sea. Also, I believe that this is one of the cheapest hotels in Ein Botek!

  • Liked — Located right on the beach
  • Disliked — The indoor pool and spa and outside pool closing early in the evening

Stayed one night on the dead sea. This hotel is good, but nothing special. Our room was not ready on time, but this was not a big bother, as we just went out to the beach, floated in the sea, and went to the spa (which is GREAT, read below).

We stayed on the ninth floor of the hotel, and the view was gorgeous. The room was average, with everything you'd need expect (2 twin beds, TV, spacious closet, desk). The bathroom was very good for a hotel in the middle east, looked slightly out-of-place. The thing which surprised me is that there were 2 safes in the room, which was a nice touch. The only thing which bothered me about the rooms was that they weren't consistent- minor issue though, so won't go into detail. Each room has 2 beautiful posters in it though, which was quite attractive.

Breakfast at the hotel is average, nothing to describe.

Beach is very nice, plenty of space (esp. during the week). Has showers, and changing facilities.

Pool is average, pool staff are rude though.

Spa is great! Features: HOT saltwater (refined water from the sea), great sauna, jacuzzi, massages, dirt masks, clean changing rooms w/ showers.

Overall: for 1-2 nights it's a good buy.

We stayed at the Hod as the second part of our 3 centre tour of Israel. The hotel itself was lovely and the spa and beach excellent. The entertainment at night was a for an older market so we stayed in our rooms at night although there are other public places to chill out within the hotel. Staff were attentive at all levels apart from in the restaurant where standing leaning against the wall with their arms crossed seemed to be the norm! However all requests were fulfilled with the shortest of time.
Overall the hotel does cater for an older market but as we were there for relaxation this didnt bother us in the slightest.

  • Liked — The fact that they still allow you to smoke in the rooms!! We are a dying breed!!
  • Disliked — The fact that you cant have butter at dinner!!! ( Islamic law no meat and dairy together.....)

Stayed here for 1 night in September and it was fine, nothing fancy or good just fine. The breakfast was ok, the room clean enough, the spa did the job but not somewhere I would recommend.

Also careful of the El Breik spa near massada my car got broken in there and all my jewlery stollen!

  • Liked — the spa was ok
  • Disliked — everything else
