A nice hotel right on the beach on the Dead Sea. I was "up graded" to a larger room...I have no idea of why, but it was very big, and had a view out of a small window of the sea and the pool.
What I didn't like was the buffet style of eating. Ok for breakfast, but for dinner, I'd like to be served.
It's a "meat" buffet and I ate at the 8 o'clock sitting the first night. The food was not that great. And the maitre d' was a bit smarmy..."Ok, you look so pretty, where are you from? Paris? I think I met you there. Sit here where I can see you."
I am a woman traveling alone, and not the slightest intimidated by this hog wash, but it was not professional. I avoided him the rest of my stay, but he did manage to sidle up and say silly things to me.
I ate the next night at the 6 o'clock sitting and the food was better...newly prepared and not kept hot for two hours.
I was not aware that the sea was so hard on your feet...you MUST get some shoes to wear in the water...the salt crystals are dreadful...nearly impossible to walk, until you, like me, fall over and float away.
I stayed two nights and the first night, I sat in the lounge and listened (for 5 minutes) to a singer in the lobby. The hotel is like a cruise ship for old people. Apparently the next night they had dancing and there was also tarot card reading and bingo. Not for me.
The nicest person there was Mirit, who was at the front desk, and was delightful, kind and funny. She also knew when I should go to Masada. They better keep her!
I think all the hotels have the buffet food thing going, so this hotel is as good as any of them....plus, it is right on the beach.
Oh, they also have free WIFI and free calls to the US...and the rest of Europe!
