“Dirty and Very Dated - almost ancient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

However, the beds were comfortable and it was right on the beach. We only stayed for one night (and left really early to climb Masada) and it was just bearable. We did not have the Israeli breakfast but they provided a take away breakfast at 4 am for us (it was good). There were limited places to eat dinner in the area so we had the buffet there. It was overpriced but the food was fine, nothing special but nothing horrible either.

I would give it 2 stars, but the location is so wonderful, it's worth an extra star just for that. The Dead Sea was amazing.

“Blah”

Lovely guy at the front desk to check us in and check out without a hassle. Rooms are exceptionally dated and depressing; bathroom was not clean, but sheets were fine and the bed was comfortable. If you're just passing through, it's adequate. It's located right on the beach and the pool looks inviting. Only stay here if you can get a room for under $100.00. I paid $180.00 and wanted to scream at how ridiculous this price was considering the condition of the place. Breakfast was plentiful and fine.

“it serves the purpose”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

We stayed here one night while touring Israel. This is a very dated hotel, but our rooms (we had a group in 4 rooms) were clean and quiet. The buffet meals that were included were adequate. The one nice feature was the pool.

“Dirty and rooms need updating”

The only positive about this hotel is its location - right on the beach. However, the room was dirty and badly in need of updating. Graffiti in the closet with dates from 1999 and 2003.

“It´s about the location and style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

Let´s make it clear at the very beginning: this hotel is not about luxury, or four star cleaniness, but about location and type of the building. There are very few (4?) hotels in Ein Bokek, that stand directly on the beach. Most of the luxury glass palaces do not. Out of these four, Tsell Harim is the only one bungalow style complex, where You can park the car inside next to Your door, and in case of second-floor rooms, enjoy privacy in enclosed teracess with high walls so that nobody sees You sunbathing or relaxing. Is there any other hotel like this in that area? No, You can´t find this in any other tower-style hotels there. Breakfasts were sufficient, swimming pool refreshingly cold and yes, the interiors were worn and not clean in many corners. Pricing was bellow the local level. The advantages clearly outweighted the flaws.
