“Not a great experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Our room with a good view of the sea was large & comfortable.
The Staff were pleasant & helpful.
However, our stay was let down badly by the poor quality of food and the poor maintenabce
of the hotel.

“Needs a lot of improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Previously a Hyatt this hotel has retained the Hyatt's architectural beauty but not its standards. The condition of our room was terrible: the carpet was torn and very dirty, the cabinet housing the fridge was coming off its hinges, the floor lamp didn't work (and when we moved it from the side of the sofa to find the switch we began coughing from the dust). The water in the room is, according to the sign in the bathroom "too salty to drink" so we had to take the elevator to the next floor to get water and ice.....only there was neither an ice bucket nor a pitcher in the room!!! The bathroom floor was filthy, the shower door didn't shut, the towels were thin, grey and as coarse as sandpaper. There were holes in our sheets.

The gym closes at 6 pm so if you like to exercise late it's impossible.

On the positive side the food and baked goods were good. There was no fresh fruit or orange juice in the morning.

Room Tip: Hint: try the smaller dining room on the lobby level for more intimate dining.

“Gorgeous property with confused management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The Meridien Dead Sea is a beautiful resort hotel in a spectacular setting. Every room overlooks the sea, there is an indoor and an outdoor dead sea water pool, and the buffets are fabulous. Unfortunately the management is clueless about what goes on and you cannot count on any answers you get from the front desk. However, this really did not affect our stay , just served as an annoyance.
The hotel is well set up for Sabbath observers and I would highgly recommend spending the Sabbath there

Room Tip: I would ask to be far away from the elevator

“Short Wonderful Expirience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

This is a fabulous hotel - wonderful views, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds. The breakfast experience was the nicest part of it, with plenty of food.

The Pool area was really overcrowded, while I believe it was due to the cold weather and less people going into the dead sea.
