“loved it !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We were 3 adults and stayed here for 2 nights last December.
It is a very good hotel.
When we, as individuals, check in a group arrived, but the staff knew how to deal with everyone and I didn’t feel any pressure.
The clerk, name Theodor, was a great person.
He saw that we were 3 so he upgraded us to a bigger room, every time we needed something he was there for us.
The room was big, new and had a balcony facing the pool and the Dead Sea.
Great view!!!
The food at breakfast and dinner is like all five stars hotel in Israel, a very rich buffet, very fresh and tasty.
The spa area is big and "joins" the outdoor pull. When we were there it was crowded (maybe because of the group).
I recommend this hotel year around !

Room Tip: A room with a balcony

“Daniel Hotel, Dead Sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony that gave a wonderful view of the sea and the pretty hotel pool. Those on the opposite side of the corridor had a view of what looked like a wall, but was maybe a hill, very close to their windows.

The food was varied and plentiful, but was closer to cafetaria type food than good hotel cuisine. Tasted a little industrial.

The breakfast was par for Israeli hotel breakfasts, only complaint was very weak coffee.
Another problem was a flock of birds, swooping down to the tables to gather up napkins, flying up toward the ceiling and dropping the napkins? What's with this?
Not very hygienic, considering that the birds have to get rid of their wastes.

The bed was very large, very comfortable and the blanket and pillows were excellent.
I'm very fussy about pillows!

Room Tip: Insist on a room which faces the lake and pool, not the other side. And not all of the rooms facing...

“A nice hotel, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

It appears to be one of the best hotels in the dead sea area. We stayed in a family room, which had a decent size, and the room was pretty well maintained.
The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the beach, and just a 10 minute walk from a small shopping center.
There is a ridiculously small parking lot, which means that most of the time you have to park pretty far from the hotel.
The food in the hotel restaurant is pretty good, BUT there is a flock of birds practically living IN the hotel restaurant, and you can imagine the consequences. It is a bit disgusting.

In our next stay in the dead sea we will probably try a different hotel.

“Good quality, great views”

Stayed at this hotel for the first time for a two-night weekend conference. Having stayed at some other dead sea hotels before, I was not overly optimistic for a quality stay. However - I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel decor was quite pleasing, and not overly ostentatious. Our 6th floor room was good sized, nicely decorated and very clean with a comfortable bed and great views overlooking the pool and the dead sea.
Both my wife and I ahd treatments at the spa. Mine was great, hers was so-so, but this can happen in any spa. The spa itself is OK, although I have definitely seen more luxurious ones, and I found the reception area to be quite noisy and not relaxing. We did not use the pools, so I think we missed out on some of the other features the spa has to offer.
We ate at the hotel two meals a day. The food was very good at all times, including Friday evening (which is a bigger challenge because of the "no cooking" rule".
My only issues were that the bathroom looked a little tired (some rust at the edges of the small bathtub...) and that the hotel has a significant shortage of parking (at least when we were there, probably because of the conference).
All in all - good stay and good value for money.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room overlooking the pool and the dead sea.

“Like many 3-4* in Europe...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Being from Israel and getting this weekend for free from work i knew not to expect much. The star rating system in Israel does not much the standards in Europe - i was in fact a little bit surprised. The Hotel looks inviting from out side, close to the beach, there is a bit of a parking problem. The lobby is very impressive and the check in was very fast (since we arrived in a group). We got a room on the 8th floor, room 879 that had a view to the mountain. We were a bit disappointed because we wanted to see the dead sea. also no balcony.
The bed was large - 2 separated mattresses - the sheet and the mattress cover are indeed to short! There is a blow dryer in the bath, a safe in the closet and a complementary kit in the room. But bring your own water because you can not use the water from the tap and the water around the hotel is very expensive!!!!
The furniture in the room could use a good dry cleaning - especially the lamps, that should be white and without yellow stains on them.
The Spa and pool areas are very nice, lots of different water choices (hot, sea water, cold, sulfur..).
The breakfast was great - lots of dairy products, fruits, veggies, bread and eggs. Dinner was worse - I`m a vegetarian and had trouble finding something to eat other then a salad. If when you come to dinner they ask you if you want to dine in the "Metro" say no! It`s a hall on the lobby level where it`s more intimate and nice but a lousy choice of food!
All in all i would recommend this hotel to others since all the hotel in the Dead sea are expensive and you do get a nice value for your money eventually.
