I would first of all take this opportunity to first and foremost put my opinion about Tembo Hotel to the dedicated staff of Tembo Hotel

My special regards goes to Mzale the reservation manager at the hotel, he handled me with my clients booking excellent even though our booking was last minute one but he assured us of our stay and we did

Secondly i would like to recommend highly the standard of the apartments Tembo hotel has, any one travelling to Zanzibar with family or very close friends i would advice you book the apartment instead f the rooms, they are just as far much better than the rooms in the main building, though about a few meters away from the main building but you will share all the other amenities the main hotel offer

The meals were delicious and its standard is erecomendable

My stay was short but excellent. The warm welcome and upgrade of room just made everything perfect. The excellent location made it all worth it.

Spent one night and it was ok until er went to bed. Loud and noisy music from the night club RIGHT next door. We made two complaints during that night, wanted to change room but the hotel was ful. They told us they'd try to talk to the club manager, without success. We were disappointed when talking to the hotel manager the next day - he told us they "always" have this problem. We suggest they avoid using this room until the situation with the club would resolved!! Ironically this room is called the honeymoon suite... Luckily this was not ours!

We stayded 4 nights at this hotel, and we found it to be very good. Nice clean rooms, whith historic athmosphere and reall nice staff. As normal on Zanzibar, the electricity was cut sometimes, but no worries, because the staff directly started up a generator.
The hotel is located right by the sea in the historic Stone Town.
