The hotel is actually pretty nice. The island is very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are great and the scenery is beautiful. The shower outside was our favorite. The resort has great potential, but the poor quality of service definitely ruined our experience.
We wanted a place to just get away and relax. The island resort was exactly what we were looking for, however the staff on the resort was so rude that I would definitely not recommend the resort to anyone.
There was not a single time in the 12 nights that we were on the island that our dinner order was taken correctly. The food was almost as bad as the service. Its a mystery how someone can take fresh fish and completely make it uneatable. The restaurant likes to pretend that its 5 star with offering you amuse-bouche at the start of the meal, but pickle wrapped in old ham or buttered cracker is not a great way to start the meal. I hate to say it, but it only got worse from there. The soups did not have a single vegetable or other ingredient in them, they tasted like they came straight from a powered package with just water added and the main course was difficult to chew at best.
The drinks were very expensive by any standards. We live in Moscow, which is also very expensive and the prices here were even higher. We don't mind paying on the high side for a good drink, but when you are paying a lot and the quality is very poor it does not add to the experience.
The staff needs a lot of training in making the experience enjoyable for the guests, this especially goes to the wait staff who serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They don't smile, they don't acknowledge your presence, they don't even try to get your order right when all you are ordering is a salad and a tea, they don't apologize for making a mistake and they are just plain rude to you throughout the dining experience.
If the quality of food is not important to you and if you are okay with service without a smile, then you can give this place a shot as the rooms are nice and the island is very peaceful, but I am sure that for the same amount of money you can get a much better experience in the Seychelles.
