I never settle for anything that a travel agent offers without reading reviews on some websites, so is the case with many others. Berjaya Le Morne was one unforgettable experience that I am sure many others who stayed there would definitely agree with me.

I bank so heavily on reviews that for my honeymoon, apart from the reviews I even checked with my partner's boss personally who had been to Berjaya on his honeymoon. He strongly recommended this place and my tour agent also assured me it was a value for money.

Berjaya is a 4 Star Deluxe property located at a secluded place on Le Morne Island. It has all the amenities of a 5 Star and a huge stretch of private beach. The villas/rooms are located in such a fashion that you would definitely have your share of that private beach. Rooms are ornate, bathrooms are luxurious and very spacious, food is excellent and the dinner buffet and the breakfast spread is King-size and delicious!

There is a bar at the center of the pool which is beautiful! There is also a stage that is set such that it can be viewed from the dining area as well as the bar and there are live performances every night. Very entertaining and very native. Picture-perfect beach, good food, enthralling live music and awesome service, the right parameters for a perfect honeymoon.

There are many things to do at Mauritius including the city tour, volcanic remains or 7-colored earth, waterfalls, botanical garden apart from water sports and shopping. It is also worth spending half a day to experience local food and shopping at local market is amazing experience. There are tons of water activities including snorkeling, diving, coral watching, under-sea walk, para-sailing and glass bottom boat ride.

Berjaya also offers some of the water activities and 7 days at Mauritius would not be sufficient if you want some leisure too. A week is good for the site-seeing and the activities at the resort. A week more, if your pocket permits, would make it an excellent romantic getaway, typically the ideal honeymoon that many of us would have dreamed about!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel Oct 2002 and had a reasonable holiday. We returned to Mauritius in 2007 and stayed at a neighbouring hotel, when we walked by the hotel was being gutted/demolished. We are sure that there must be a hotel on the site (too good a site to waste) but have no idea what it is now called. I am glad that so many people enjoyed their weddings or honeymoons but writing out of date reviews is not helpful to other travellers.

Had two weeks here All Inclusive for our honeymoon back in 2004. The hotel is superb. We upgraded to a club room which was right on the beach and was huge! AI deal is worth every penny as there was nothing that wasn;t included at the time. Entertainment was good and available every evening. The beach and tropical water were fantastic and the sunsets to die for. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic break.

The Berjaya is a 45 min drive from the airport but the drive is worth it as you soak in teh awesome beauty of Mauritius. Our check took some time as I guess we were a little early. However, the room was breathtaking beautiful and was huge in size with a balcony. The ocean is barely a few steps away form the room. The breakfast was well spread and the hotel offers several other dining options. Every morning they organised water sports and I tried my hand at water sking which was fun...Every night there was a program before dinner which was good fun. The only drawback is the hotel staff who are a bit laid back. The hotel is a bit far away from the towns so its basically a place for you to soak in the sun....If you are there with a significant other, you will enjoy your stay
