My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel and was far from impressed. For a luxury resort the the rooms weren't great the tv was the oldest one I've seen in years and didnt work properly with the power point sparking a lot also the shower broke and it took maintenance over24 hours to come after I rang a number of times. We had room service for breakfast on last morning and 10 minutes after it came we had a phone call asking if something was missing from our breakfast which they forgot the mushrooms cold cuts cheese platter and even the milk to go with the coffee! Then told us we have to wait another 20 minutes for that! We arrived back at our room one afternoon and noticed my tablet medication was missing from the bedside table I questioned where they were they said they would look into it never got back to me so I had to call time and time again but they didn't help at all not impressed that someone either stole my tablets or threw them out!! 2nd to last day there we wanted our room serviced they didn't do it we had to ring them twice just to get it done! Not impressed expected better service would not return nor ever recommend it to anyone!!!

I thank you for your review relating some aspects of your experience at Lux Grand Gaube. The perception of our guests is our reality, and we are grateful that you took out of your time to share it with us.
We have looked carefully into each of your points very deeply together with the team, especially those which are related to our service and our response to your requests, as those does not reflect our sincere will to satisfy and please our guests. Rest assured that we have taken immediate action to correct this situation, or improve our way to respond to requests.
I do present my sincere apologies for the tablet you have reported missing on the evening of the 20th of August. I understand that our colleagues Ben and Andrew went to meet you in the room as soon as they were made aware of it on the same evening, and immediately they have organized a thoroughly search together with the housekeeping team, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. I realize the basket of oranges that Ben took the liberty to send you on the next morning, knowing that the tablet was made of vitamins, could not ideally replace it.
Please allow me to reiterate my apologies for the situation you have been through, hoping that our team has been able to make your other moments very special.

My husband and I have just returned from the most relaxing and outstanding holiday. As I rent luxury high end villas with 100% 5 star reviews, I can be a very picky person with extremely high standards. The Lux did not disappoint. After a long flight, the checking in process was relaxing and the amazing service begins here. We were guided to some comfortable seats by open French doors where the smells of the beautiful aromatherapy oils wafted through. After a quick checking of passports and other details (whilst sipping chilled grapefruit juice and a cool down with a chilled towel) we were taken on a very quick tour of the facilities and then straight to our room which had surprisingly been upgraded to a deluxe room. The room had the most amazing sea views and had a huge comfortable bed and large soft pillows. Although the room wasn’t at all disappointing, as I mentioned, I am a perfectionist, so i have to say that the shower needed a slight re-grout as it was becoming slightly dark some of the corners. I did notice they were renovating a few rooms (noiselessly!) so perhaps this will be on their list next!
The beaches and pools were absolutely spotless and sunbeds could be found at any time of the day. The beach waiter service was fine, not around all the time, but to be honest I don’t want to be asked if I would like a drink every few minutes.
The restaurants were amazing! The beach was our favourite and Ramasay was such a fantastic waiter, he always found what I wanted and recommended the best fish dishes. We had eaten in top class restaurants all over the world and I have to say the food quality, presentation and service equalled some of the best we had eaten in. Even the simple cheeseburgers and authentic pizzas were delicious. We did opt for the All Inclusive package and I do recommend this. I have to also mention Avi in the Kitchen restaurant. He was probably the best waiter we have ever encountered. His wine recommendations were perfect and he also gave me the opportunity to open a bottle of champagne with a sabre – I have the certificate to prove it!
We particularly liked the Lux touches, the secret bar, ice cream vendor, pineapple on the beach, beach cinema… I could go on however I think that the fact we hope to book the Lux in the Maldives next year speaks for itself.

Room tip: I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the room choices as they all seemed to have a sea view!

My family and I live in Mauritius and often need a break from reality and go away to a resort for the weekend! We went to Lux Grand Gaube and when we arrived we we treated like we were VIP.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and the service is excellent! I have stayed in a lot of hotel is Mauritius and the beach at this resort is by far the best!
I would recommend the Medditeranien restaurant because the other restaurants food is not as good! Every day when we went for breakfast they would give you like a hotel newspaper telling you more about Mauritius and what activities were on that day. It was so good and relaxing that we decided to stay another night! If going there (for all coffee lovers) They have their own cafe that make their own coffee made from there own roasted coffee beans! IT IS THE BEST!
It is a very relaxing and friendly resort and I would recommend it to lots of people!

We have just returned from a truly outstadning week at this beautiful hotel. The firtt thing that hits you when you arrive is the glorious smell, vanilla & patchoulli which you can buy as an oil when you leave from the Spa; its our enduring memory of the resort now we are back at home. The staff are incredibly friendly although service is sometimes a bit slow; you get used to it. I am gluten free and the staff ensured I had bread and pancakes every day. The Italian restaurant is lovely, quite romantic and good food. The dining room is good too and they do a mean burger. All inclusive is the best way to go, try the bellinis or the strawberry mojitos, strong but lovely. The weather was superb even though it was winter, cloud and rain pass quickly and there is more than enough sun. Water sports are good, the pedalos and the double canoes are great fun. Dont do the deep sea fishing at this time of year, you will spend the duration being sea sick, its quite awful. Watch out for the 'sorbet' bicycle who rings his bell delivering beautifully flavoursome and refreshing treats. The evening entertainment is good fun, the staff encourage people to get up and dance, a really good mixture of artists. So much fun and will certainly return. Thank you to all the staff.

Room tip: We had a deluxe garden room which was perfect

Where to start? This place is just fantastic. Don't be suspicious of the friendly nature of the staff: this is real. They are welcoming and as far as I am concerned we will do our utmost to go there again next year or sooner. The management have a presence too which is great and the sales manager was particularly helpful when our pleasure flight was cancelled due to high winds. He came to find us to apologise for something which quite frankly was out of his control; but you had the feeling that the care factor was all there.
The Staff are great. The Bar Staff are my sort of crazy and they are such such good fun; Sandren and the boys are brilliant. Try all of the cocktails, they are brilliant. The lone guitarist also great. Serving staff at the lunches and dinners are also just so pleasant and always helpful. Even the pool attendant goes out of him way to be of help for things that are not even his job. The ladies in the Spa were also great. The bands were of good quality too.
One tip...always go here with "all inclusive" status. You will easily benefit from this in the costs of drinks, breakfast, lunches and dinners. If you like Indian food as we do, then the Indian food nights (Fridays) are just marvellous. All other buffet food selections are well done and very nicely presented. There is virtually no need to go on excursions, this place has everything you need to just stop and rest. The boat and 'plane trips which are available are just a few paces away.
Go in our summer (their winter) and the temperatures are really fine and very bearable (23 - 26 degrees). Any rain (liquid sunshine as they put it) is soon passed and we had more than 80% good weather.
Great Holiday destination.

Room tip: We had a room with a sea view. This was a good choice.
