“Wouldnt stay here again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2008

This hotel was pretty shocking, but you get what you pay for. If it wasnt for the weather being totaly gorgeous we prob would of had an awful time. On the transfer we were charged £10 for a visa which we are sure is a rip off and we didnt need one.
on arrival we went to the bar and the staff completely ignored us and continued to serve guests who were already there - i asunme because they had been tipping them. We asked for drinks 3 times before we got any. We Immediatley met up with 3 other couples who had been experiencing the same problems!
The food was terrible, we were told by the rep to squeeze lime juice over the salad stuff to get rid of the bugs! Nice. We didnt bother to eat any salad stuff as it was left uncovered and there were loads of flies about. The drinks were very small, could only have 1 at at time and there was no way they wpuld let you take 2 or 3 back to other people, you had to get the drink yourself! There was nowhere to sit and have a drink, the bar was just that - an outside bar probably 2 meters wide, no chairs or tables. We were stood up alot! Once we had tipped the bar staff a few times they changed dramatically and were happy and chatty and would refill your glass - but why should you have to pay extra to get this!!! We certainly didnt feel like tipping anyone but it was the only way to get good service.

On the plus side, and there are some! The beach was lovely - brilliant for seeing lots of fish through the clear water. Altho there was quite alot of rock you will need water shoes. The weather was brilliant 12 hrs sun a day, and lovely and hot. Altho did get a bit much mid day we generally didnt go out between 11 and 3 so we would get some lunch and then go back to our room to watch a film. There was a couple of quite good film channels available. The hotle was a nice size so we did make a few friends - altho we were mainly just moaning about the place!

We wanted a double room but on arrival we had 2 single beds so went straight to reception to ask to be moved and there was probably another 10 people already at reception asking to be moved for various reasons. We were told there wasnt any double rooms available but they would try move us in a few days but we never heard anything and quite frankly couldnt be doing with having to try and explain our issues again to the unhelpful and rude reception staff.

We didnt pay alot for this holiday, for 2 weeks all inclusive was an absolute bargain we thought but like everyone says - you get what you pay for. There was nothing to do except eat , drink ( well try to!) sunbathe and watch tv, so if thats all your after then great. We didnt experience stomach problems until the end of the holiday and then i seemed to have problems for 2 months afterwards!

Wouldn't stay here again, would rather pay a bit more money next time!

Need anymore info please let me know.

“Worst Holiday ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2008

We recently went to Egypt for two weeks, from October 1st to October 15th of this year. We had booked to stay at Cinderella Beach Resort in Marsa Alam. Unfortunately upon arrival we had problems
The hotel was disgustingly filthy, we had to stop our 3 year old from sitting on tables and chairs in reception areas as there was thick dust everywhere, we had to change our clothes after only half an hour in the reception as it was so dirty.
The hotel room was also of an awful standard and definitely not fit for purpose.
The shower did not work properly. The toilet did not flush. The electric plugs were hanging off the wall which is extremely unsafe when there is a small child around.
This must be a huge safety issue and people should definitely not be allowed in rooms where electric is such a danger. The beds were crawling in ants as was the entire room. My 3 year old daughter was bitten to pieces by ants.
The food was inedible; there were insects and flies all over the food. There was no variety of food or drink for children despite being advertised as child friendly and ideal for families.
The room was dirty, the chairs were not cleaned and the floor was dirty upon arrival.
The hotel is advertised with a children’s club, this was not the case. The beach bar was not open. There was no pool bar as stated on the internet. There was no supermarket as advertised on the internet. The children park was unsafe, rusty and falling to pieces. There was no entertainment which was one of the key reasons for picking this hotel.
There was no car rental available as advertised, only a taxi service which did not run all day. There was no disco, or bicycle rental. The pool table was broken and not usable. There was no snack bar. There was no TV lounge or volleyball. All of these things were reasons for choosing this hotel. The hotel was advertised with all of these facilities and I found it outrageous that we turned up to find none of them available.
We tried using the computers and were told these were broken. The toilets in reception exploded when we flushed them which I found disgusting.
The drinks were not kept refrigerated and were left out on tables with the lids off all day. There was no other place to get drinks so we had to drink these.
The air conditioning kept switching itself off in our room.
Our rep said that we could write down issues and get back to him and he left. We spent two days trying to get transfered which we luckily did in the end as we would not have been able to stay at this resort.

“Dont go if you are English”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2008

If you like good food do not go there unless you are a vegetarian, they reheat food up for at least two days hence getting a bad stomach twice I then stuck to rice, vegetables and salad.
If you decide to go for a massage only pay for one first as they dont understand English very well as the main people are German, Italian, Russian and Polish, and they do not promise what they say they will do. All the shops there have there goods priced in Euros when you ask what is it in Egyption or English you will get ripped off due to exchange rate.

Rooms are good and cleaned very well, Waiters that speak English are very helpful. If you go to the local town you have to get the taxi from the Hotel which is very expensive.

BE WARNED if you want to go diving they will recomend South RedSeaDiving Club at Utopia Resort, be very careful, the Boat is very old, paint pealing, be careful you dont get splinters from the wood, there is no where to store diving equptment, we had an incidnet when we where there, we went out on a very rough day the waves where big, not realising the rusty ladder had broken one side and tide up with rope, when my Husband got on the ladder a big wave hit him as the boat went up the other side of the ladder broke, as the boat hit the water the ladder slid under the boat with my husband still on it, this happened at least 3 times untill the crew could tie the other side of the ladder up and pull my husband up and into the boat, he cut his hands and renched his shoulder needless to say he is off sick at work and the moment and receiving physio. If I had realised what the school was like we would never had gone with them.

“well what can i say”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2008

well my first time in egypt and what did i get.......... a hotel that has wonderful staff they were welcoming and friendly. That was where the good ends, the hotel has undergone a face lift, i believe that this was done by Stevie Wonder. Although the rooms were comfortable and clean the decor was awful. On a personal note please please lock all valuables in the hotel safety deposit boxes as i had a number of items stolen from my room. A very expensive lesson was learned by me. The insurance wont pay out because the hotel would not call the local police. All in all a hotel that i would recommend not to go back to.

“The Ugly Sister”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2008

If you have money for a holiday in this time of global credit crunch, do yourself a favour and don;t waste it at this hole in the ground.

The staff are the rudest people on Earth towards anyone with an English accent, with no respect for women, and the food is turgid. The facilities are run down and rancid and they watered the gardens with water from the cesspool facility - how nobody has died from dysentry, I will never know.

The rep for the travel company we went with, Youtravel, was the worst I have ever had to deal with, and only responded to my request to be moved because I had nine other people with me asking for the same thing. We followed the advice of other people from other countries who were urging their own travel reps to do likewise and get them out of there - on the day we got moved there must have been thirty guests who left.

Go at your own risk!
