Where do I start ! All Europeans, not many English not a problem. We are frequent travellers around E,gypt so know what to expect. Hotel was clean, rooms ok, staff friendly but not enough of them, especially at meal times. One poor guy doing bottled water and booze for the five thousand. Beach great, snorkelling great, sunbeds plentiful the problem was the food. Awful, badly prepared and the same every night . My partner was taken ill and I was pleased there was a medical centre on site. However, there our problems began!. The doctor diagnosed food poisioning which he later changed to gastroentonitus after a "chat" with the hotel manager. Four saline drips and sickness pills and 2 visits later, delboy in the medical center presented me will a bill for £1000.00. I was furious and questioned the cost, his reply was" not to worry your insurance will pay". He then proceded to show me previous medical bills for fellow guests (nice little earner) To be fair the Egyptian rep was great and horrified we had been ripped of in his country. He said to me treatment for gastroenteritus/food poisioning should cost no more than £100.00 .And that's pushing it. We both love Egypt and will always return, but won't be going back to the pensee/utopia .
