The rooms were OK spacious and on the beach as promised. Would def only want a beach side room as the other part of the hotel is over the road. All areas were clean and constantly maintained clean. Beach was lovely better than piccies on Trip A showed really and the jetty fab and especially to walk up and down late afternoon. Snorkelling from the end was fine, just too windy on a couple of days with red flag flying and therefore not able to go in the water. Not the hotels fault at all. Lovely location on the beach with sun lounger and mattress and wind break to chill the day away and with NO loud music like in so many hotels these days. The shuttle bus beach was nothing special and not too many fishes but OK. I suppose I am spoilt as I went to the Calimera Habiba in Marsa Alam 4 years ago and they had a beach down the road where you put your head in the water and you had your own aquariam and it was amazing. Not sure the house reef at the Flamenco was that good, but it was very rough when we were there and you have to say it is winter there at the mo etc..... so jury out hey. All in all the beach area and jetty was lovely. Hotel nice in overall view.
So this brings me on the the Food ! Breakfast was OK, same old same old each day. Fab pancakes and choc sauce and the omelettes very nice to. So Breakfast nothing to complain about but had much much better most times away. Dinner, well where do I start! Have seen the last couple of reviews saying it was fab and very nice etc.... it was not and I am not one to complain, see all of the reviews I have done over the years they are not negative at all ! starters were OK, recycling going on with sausages etc from breakfast. But I have to say the food, ALL looked fresh and I was not ill at all. The main courses were just not good, bland, meat cut wrong, all thrown into canteen like mounds and small portions of meat ie about a couple of mouthfuls of the meat dish of the day. Ate the pasta most nights with its uninspiring watery tom sauce, Nothing good about the whole experience but better than the DESSERTS were awful ! we love our desserts on hols. Lots of gelatine involved with the experience, the cheesecakes and other cake things like them looked like they had had dessert botox !!! we ate nothing for dessert and went to the bar upstairs and PAID of ice cream ! One night there was a bread and butter pud, looked like someone had been ill and the profiteroles were like a bowl of brown mush not one whole on in site. I will not labour this further. We just laughed in the end and there is an up side, we prob came back 7 b lighter than normal and it just was not what you wanted to pig out on.
Anyway, it was a nice break, the staff friendly and helpful, the housekeeping man was lovely and Tamer in the restaurant was as sweet as the sauce on my pancakes ! A lovely chill out week was had by both and we giggled lots about the food so all is well. Would recommend as it is a nice place.
