“2 nights only , good security”

Very convenient for El Quseir police station. 5 minutes drive. Very windy november 2011. Room isolated but good sky TV and room service. IT manager helpful in computer area to get online. El Quseir itself in another time zone..cover up ..especially women from Europe..very third world outside hotel and dont expect European standards of equality outside hotel. However very good female Egyptian English speaking pharmacist eventually found. If you need consular help there is an Honourary British consul in Hurghada 2 hours away drive so go there if you are in trouble and dont stop in El Quseir or consider the "court house " for any help.

“Good service, nice hotel, relaxing holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

We were in this Mövenpick hotel the second time and we enjoyed our holiday again. This hotel is really in a beautiful location although this time it was not possible to snorkle because of the heavy wind and red flag at the sea. This time we got a room in sector 21 which is in a 7 min. walking distance to the main building but very quit and the room itself is a little bit bigger than the older ones in sectors 11 to 19, especially the bathroom was much bigger. Beside of the good service, the nice food and the beautiful place, this hotel must be working on their room quality - they get old and should be renovated in due course. Nevertheless, it is worth to stay at the Mövenpick and enjoy relaxing days with no visible animation in a beautiful environment.

Room Tip: Sectors 11 to 19 have older rooms, Sectors 20 - to 2x were built later and have much bigger bathroom...

“3rd stay in the hotel, but quality is decreasing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

We stayed for 1 week in the hotel, 3rd time in 5 years, but must admit that the quality has been gently going down over the years.

Overall it is still a good hotel and definitely better than most other hotels along the coast-line, but quality of the food, the service and the hotel itself has been going down. Also the beach is becoming small due to the additional rooms that have been build, which leads to a situation where most beach-cheers are reserved from 8am onwards. The WLAN service is poor and outrageously expensive. It is better to get a Vodafone prepaid 3G SIM card + 1 month flat rate (costs 1/3 and works in the rooms as well, but requires activation through a local egyptian and a tour to El Quseir).

Our reason for staying at the Moevenpick has been the diving possibilities. With the change from Subex to Extra Divers the number of divers in the water has been increased, and the attentiveness of the team is less than what it used to be. Then again, I think following up on Subex is a high standard to reach.

We have decided that we will try a different place next time, since the unique position of being above most other hotels both from a hotel and a diving point of view have been lost.

Room Tip: Make sure that you agree upon the location of the room upfront. There are very good rooms, and numer...

“Good hotel, lovely location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This is a lovely, very well designed hotel in a beautiful location. We were there for nine nights in early November for nine nights and had a superior room facing the sea. It was worth the extra charge. The room was comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. The bathrobes were surprisingly small. However, we did not ask for bigger ones and I am sure they are available.

The joy of the place is its location on the sea and its sympathetic architecture. Staff and services were excellent throughout.

Breakfast which was very good and was available either at the main restaurant or outdoors at the Al Fresco restaurant. The latter was a lovely way to start the day. The disappointment was dinner which while generally fine was seldom excellent and did not match in quality the expectation created by the prices. A dining highlight was a seafood dinner in the "Fishermans Hut". A low point was an oriental buffet dinner. Generally dinner while satisfactory should have been better for the prices being charged.

This was our third stay at a Moevenpick having been at the Dead Sea in 2007 and Aswan in November 2010. It was a very enjoyable stay in a very good property.

Room Tip: the superior sea facing rooms are worth the extra charge.
