Traveled to Binghamton this week to visit family for the Holidays. Our usual hotel was booked so we used a choice privileges reward night for this stay. Well the exterior looked as though it had been redone within the last ten years, slightly outdated but an obvious renovation of a typical 1960's roadside hotel. The lot was full of utility crew trucks. Lobby was inviting and front desk was very nice. Room was clean, beds were a 4 on the 1-10 scale. Bathroom had lots of rust, lint/dust in vents and some type of corrosion on the toilet seat hinges which my 5 year old was very intrigued by. Not so bad but in the morning we were greeted by ants on the nightstand and the floor! Thankfully it was free, 54th night in a hotel this year, I have seen much worse.

Walls paper thin.
Dirty and Smoke odor all throughout.
Old and in need of a total face lift.
Stains on carpets and bath tub.
Air conditioning not working.
Web sites give this a 3 star rating but only worthy of maybe a 2 star at most.

It is ok. All the reviews seemed to be correct. The lobby looks nice. The breakfast is very good - waffles, scrambled eggs, cooked ham, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, patries, doughnuts, etc. Food tastes good. The hallways and rooms are a bit worn. My hotwire price had it about right at $67. Their regular rate is $119. That is where I would not have been happy. One expects more from $119. Sheets were clean.

The staff at this hotel could not have been more helpful. We had a large group we needed to relocate at the last minute because of area flooding, and also needed to find new meeting space. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and were very helpful to those on site as well. Only heard good reviews from those who stayed there; rooms were clean and attractive. Would recommend to others.
