“birthday getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

We chose the Lodge at Turning Stone for my husbands 50th birthday celebration with our teenage children. The package included the spa treatment for my husband. It was the highlight of his birthday! He spent two hours at the spa being pampered. The Wildflowers restaurant was top notch! We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, which was very clean ,warm and inviting.I thought the hotel was very thoughtfully layed out and tastefully decored with strong influences of the American Indian culture. The open lobby with alcoves around the massive fireplace were inviting. The lodge is a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the many visitors of the casino. The rooms were very spacious suites. Unique room amenties were the l'occitaine toiletries, double shower heads, frosted frenh doors walkthru bathroom, desk area with wifi, turndown with slippers, very reasonable minibar. It was the perfect luxurious one night getaway.I will definitely return.

“Love it, make the trip at least once a year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2011

My husband and I come here for a romantic getaway at least once a year, and we are never disappointed. I had a wonderful massage, while he visited the casino, then we had an excellent dinner at The Forest Grill. The bext morning we had a delicious breakfast in our room. We were given an extended checkout with no problems. The staff was great, the room was very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for, love the L'Occitane bath amenities! Never disappointed.

“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

I have no complaints what so ever in regards to our stay at the lodge at turning stone. From time of check-in to time of check-out was an overall great experience. Everyone on staff was friendly and courteous. The place was beautiful, quite and relaxing. i particularly enjoyed the pool & sauna. The food at "Wildflowers" was great. I also recommend eating at the buffet at Turning casino (Another thumbs up with the food). The lodge is connected to the casino which was also nice. The suites are nice and spacious and relaxing.

“Form over function!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2010

Even if you don't plan to stay in the Lodge and are in the area take a peek. The south facing three story 'Great Room' was an architectual treat even on a brisk November afternoon. The Praire Style design is complemented by fine workmanship througout the Lodge. The staff from the valet parking and bell service to reception were both gracious and friendly during our stay. But like other Wright inspired structures function takes a back seat. Our suite ( seating area and king bedroom...suite gets used rather loosely these days) was seperated by wide frosted glass double doors. The seating area was comfortable, if a tad small. The bedroom was spacious with built in closet space and a work center. The balcony would have been a treat on a warmer day. The double entry bathroom (hall and bedroom) also had frosted glass double doors. Privacy is an issue. The double entry is designed to allow your guests the opportunity to use the facilities. However, the gap between the doors is big enough to discourge use of the amenity except for your closest friends. The soaking tub and large seperate walk-in shower are high notes. The commode is another issue. I've been in airplane restrooms with more space. My elbow rested comfortably on the tissue holder...I hope you get the concept. The bedroom curtains provided another privacy issue. A large round structural column stopped the curtains from coming completely together. I know these are small details in design, but at these prices one expects more.

“Wonderful Get-a-way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

We did the package that included the spa and discounted dinner before going to see the Stevie Nicks Show. Everything was wonderful and it was next to impossible to get anyone on the staff to use the "no" word. We arrived a bit stressed and rushed and left the next day with an aura of total relaxation. Allow yourself plenty of time to relax in the spa, eat slowly at Wildflowers, and enjoy a chocolate at the front desk. Despite their being a large group there at the same time, we were always treated as though we were the only guests. We shall return in the Winter.

I normally don't do reviews but the staff was so outstanding, they deserve a good word. Treat them with respect and you get it back tenfold.
