We wanted to stay a couple of nights and check out Fort Ticonderoga. The Stone House was overall a pleasant enough place, and the price was right.
Two concerns however: the lock on the door was the flimsyest I've ever seen -not even a chain to give the illusion of safety.
The 2nd problem was in the bathroom, which contained a glass shelf over the toilet extending to the sink. It extends too far into the sink area and has a sharp jagged edge. It is the proverbial accident just waiting to happen.

Visited Ticonderoga to see the Fort, which was great. Hotel was easy to find on the main street of the town. Staff was friendly. Rooms were reasonably comfortable. Facility could use a new interior paint job to provide more up to date, neutral colors and a new rug in the main building. We also had some problems with the air conditioning units being moldy, which was causing allergic reactions. Pool could also have used a cleaning. Wagon Wheel Restaurant provided a nice array of eating options in a casual environment. Carillon Restaurant had a more upscale menu and was not good for kids.

While visiting family for the holidays we found this motel.Very clean rooms,reasonable prices and nice location.We had a king size bed with fireplace in room-cozy. It is not fancy but comfortable & affordable,

The owners were nice on the phone. If you check in at 7:50pm like us be careful since they close the front desk. There is not somebody there 24 hours.Desk closed at 8pm. I do not know how we were to get in if we came after 8pm.
It has a microwave, and fridge which is a plus. However the beds are very uncomfortable. It is 50's style--shag carpet no coffee or tea in room. Shower pressure heat changes with water on and off.It takes 3 flushes to get the toilet to flush. There was three of us and that is how I made the reservations--did not have enough towels. They were given when asked. The towels are thin.( maybe from the 50's).
Not many choices in this town.
