“Always a nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel back in october 2011 and i was very happy with my stay so i came back to this hotel in the end of january and had another great stay. Staff is very friendly. When i checked in they were still running the promotion for the 200 points or free wii for elite memebers for mariott rewards. The girl at the front desk asked what i would like, i said i want the 200 points but then said no maybe i want the free internet, she was so nice she gave me both of them. I asked for a pool view, i was able to get it, our room was on the the 4th floor. The room was big, very spacious. Bathroom was on the smaller side but was fine for two people getting ready. Hair dyer has enough power and there smart to make it portable just incase you need to blow dry your hair outside the bathroom, most places dont do that. They also give you shampoo conditoners and lotion in the bathroom. They also give you tea and coffee in the room. The room had a nice big king bed also a couch on the other end of it, extra sleepng area. The blacony was really big, to bad there are no chairs so u could sit out there. Pool was crowded when we saw it. So was the hot tub. It must of been one of those weekends where there was alot going on at the hotel because there where alot of kids, families, and different companies. Hotel is a great meeting place. Bar downstairs looks nice but have not yet gone there. They have 3 places to eat for breakfest lunch and dinner. I've only eaten at the traven though its pricey the food is good. We also got room service while we where there and the food came fast. This hotel is perfect for your stay it has so much to offer. They have a pool, work out room, a bar, plenty places to eat, places to meet, there is a great message place, i cannot say enough how much i enjoyed this hotel and the staff. This hotel has eveything i need, i will be returning here in the near fucture.

“Clean and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The hotel makes a nice attempt at a more upbeat interior; the lobby is decorated in a more modern, colorful style. My room was comfortable but faced onto the pool/atrium, which was strange because it essentially had no window (only a sliding door onto the atrium hallway, which was completely unlocked when I checked into the room). Other than that, the room was clean and amenities were fine. One complaint is the $13 per day WiFi charge.
The restaurant was fine for breakfast, a little overpriced but to be expected. Portions were big (ordered off the menu, although the buffet looked nice) and the food was good. There were plenty of healthy choices. Did not have lunch or dinner there. The main "downtown" of Tarrytown is close by and has some good restaurants with a little more variety.
Overall, a fine place to stay, especially if the easy, free parking is of value to you.

Room Tip: Ask for room that doesn't face the atrium if you're concerned about noise.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel as part of large irish dance competition in the grand ballroom. Very convenient off the Thruway, plenty of parking and overall the service & condition of the hotel was good. The kids enjoyed the great indoor pool area with hot tub. 3 dining choices with 2 upscale offerings and a bar that served a reasonably priced menu. Restaurants and bar were a bit understaffed for a large event, but nothing drastic. Rooms a bit small especially the bathroom which was tiny. Beds very comfortable. Highly recommend Italian restaurant down the street called Alaromas.

“Nice hotel, but eat elsewhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We recently stayed at the Westchester Marriott, and overall I was very pleased. The room was a decent size, a little dominated by the king-sized bed, but nicely furnished. The bathroom was a bit small - the toilet and tub/shower were separate from the sink area, which helped, but you really had to squeeze around the toilet to shut the door. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in and there were several very thick, firm pillows (like sleeping on with your head on a couch cushion), but the second night I noticed one smaller, softer pillow that made for a much better night's sleep. They already had a crib set up in the room before we got there, which was very convenient.

Nice indoor pool in an atrium-like setting, though they used a LOT of chlorine. The pool was pretty warm, which felt great, and the hot tub felt wonderful. My husband and I used the gym, which had a lot of really nice equipment, cardio machines, and free weights.

My only complaint was about the Harvest Grill Restaurant in the hotel - it was the only option for breakfast and the service was terrible. There was almost no one eating in the restaurant when we got there, but it still took about 5 minutes for anyone to come over to seat us, even though there were some other servers around who seemed to see us (and the several other parties who came in behind us). It took a solid 10 minutes after we were seated for them to finally bring over a high-chair for my toddler, so I had to either hold her or let her roam around until they brought it over. A couple who were seated a few minutes after us had their order taken before ours, and the English muffin my husband asked to have brought out for our daughter as soon as possible came out with the rest of our breakfast, about 20 minutes after we ordered it. I had an egg-white omelet with spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese (which was on the menu), and it was very boring and had only about 3 crumbles of feta on it. My husband's breakfast sandwich was fine, but they never came back over or refilled my water (which was the only thing I was drinking). It was a very, very long, slow, disappointing breakfast.

Other than that, though, I would recommend the hotel - nicely decorated, pleasant staff, just find another place to eat!
