“AMAZING!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My sister, her husband and I planned a weekend getaway for my husband's 30th birthday and it was amazing. We checked in and they had upgraded us to the Presidential Suite, which was terrific. Massive balcony, sitting area, etc. We went out to dinner after swimming in the heated pool, and when we came back there was a birthday cake on the table from the pastry Chef and a note from all of the staff members wishing my husband a happy birthday. The stay was terrific, they allowed us to have a late check out and overall we can't wait to go back. This was our second time there and everytime we want to rush right back to our little getaway from the city.

Room Tip: If its a special occasion, ask for the Presidential Suite, we have stayed in a regular suite there a...

“What is not to like?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

One might say the "commute" you need to take from room to room or from building to building, but neither I nor my party had that complaint. We were happy to explore the grounds. I was quite a majestic experience. A group of us went to the Tarrytown House Estates for a couples getaway. We felt pampered from the time we walked into the lobby. The rooms were beautiful, and very clean. We had a view of the beautiful grounds and a partial view of the river. Everyone in our party was quite pleased with the service and the accommodations.

While we did most of our dining in town, we chose to have Sunday Brunch at the Mansion. It was just fantastic. There was a great variety of choices for all diets. The service was pretty amazing. When I asked for orange juice mixed with cranberry juice, some members at my table mentioned that it sounded like a good combination. Our server brought pitchers of the mixture so that we could all enjoy the "punch" . It was something so simple, but so considerate to do. We knew that we were being very well taken care of.

This review was a long time coming and there is no doubt that it would be more detailed had I not waited over a month to write it. We could not have chosen a better place for our getaway and we so hope to come again.

Dear Shebasdreams:

All we can say is WOW and Thank You! We not only appreciated having all of you as our guests we are very touched that you took the time to write and share your thoughts with our Trip Advisor community.

Although our 12 buildings dating from 1840 spread out on our 26 acres of grounds can be daunting, I am so glad you found the entire estate to your liking. Our team enjoys creating memories for both our business and "weekender" guests.

Rest assured the juice combination you created along with a touch of Champagne will be ready and waiting for you in the Mansion.

All the best and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Nice place; noisy rooms.”

The Tarrytown House Estate is gorgeous. The grounds are immaculate, the buildings well maintained. And just being in the neighborhood with all that wealth (everybody rich in the 19th century on the east coast had "a place" nearby!) makes you feel flush. The staff is attentive; the chef is excellent; the wine list astounding. One problem: the noise from neighbor rooms is quite loud, so take ear plugs.

Dear Macksandy:

Thank you for your kind message. Our associates love creating memorable experiences for our guests and I'm thrilled we were able to do this for you!

I am pleased to hear you enjoyed our new Cellar 49 Restaurant. Our apologies for your noisy neighbors when they return we will be sure to reserve them in a more secluded area of the Estate.

Wishing you all the best as your travels take you throughout the world and hopefully back to our estate in the near future.

“Step back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We decided to go to theTarrytown Estates because we got a good offer from Snique Away and thought in the middle of January we would be due for a nice getaway. We were upgraded to the King Mansion (the older building on the estate) and given coupons for discounts at their restaurant for food food and drink. The room was older, but pretty with a wonderful bed and lovely bedding. The building had a nice library and pretty marble floors. We planned on using the pool and jacuzzi and were fortunate to always have it all to ourselves. It snowed the first night band it was great to swim as one of the walls was all windows. Staff was lovely and it was a good getaway.

Dear FTPCGE:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with our Trip Advisor fans. We were delighted to welcome you on what may be the only snowy weekend of this mild winter. The King Mansion is truly a fascinating guest house as it has the only 10 period guest rooms with original antique furnishings available at our vast 26 acre estate.

Our staff prides themselves on creating memories and we hope we may soon welcome you back. The area is also rich with historic attractions which will open in Spring for fantastic tours and sight-seeing.

Thank you again for sharing your weekend with our Trip Advisor community.

“Came back for more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Five years ago, we had our wedding reception at the Tarrytown House. We returned to celebrate our anniversary and were just as impressed with the staff, rooms, service, and food as we were back then. This is a great place for a short or extended getaway. You don't have to leave the grounds, as everything is available to you. However, if you do venture out, there is much to do and see in Tarrytown and other nearby towns. Would recommend this property and will absolutely be back!

Room Tip: The suites are fantastic if you want/need a little extra space

Dear gabsmom923:

A warm welcome back and congratulations on your 5th anniversary. We were both excited and honored to welcome you both back and are so glad you enjoyed your home away from home. After your wedding reception we embarked on a huge project of creating and envisioning our new Cellar 49 Tavern/Restaurant. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back before your next anniversary. Best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012.
