This was our first experience at a Springhill Suite, although we have stayed at many other Marriott properties. When we booked through a third-party service, they suggested this hotel because it had rooms with 2 double beds & a pull-out sofa. We were told we could get a roll-away as well, but found out upon check-in that this was not true. They offered us a room across from the elevator as it was a "little bigger" and so we took it. It was tight, but fine for four adults.
The room is not a standard hotel size/shape. When you enter there's a sofa (w/a queen-sized pull out) and an extra sofa section. Across from this is a niche with a desk and a small kitchenette w/mini-fridge, microwave, sink, coffee-maker and countertop.
The large screen plasma TV is on the wall opposite the sofa toward the beds, but not exactly across from either. The TV wall curves outward and along this wall you'll find the entrance to the bathroom, a dresser and a closet. Across from this are the two double beds with an alarm clock with an iPod dock (nice touch!). On the other side of the curved wall is the bathroom - the tub is at the largest width and then it "slims down" for the toilet. This part is separated by a door from the sink, mirror and usual amenities of shampoo, soap & body lotion.
The room was decent, although my allergies flared up after sleeping on the sofa bed. It has a very thin, but soft mattress.
Good points: The staff were very nice. I am not sure if it's their usual practice, but breakfast was available at least an hour earlier than advertised during the weekend. I also noticed that another hotel guest was able to get the hotel to provide transportation to the train station- this was also not advertised.
Wi-Fi worked well and there were two computer stations in the lobby. Coffee, tea, apples and lollipops were also available most of the time.
Bad point: While the pool was clean, the whirlpool did not work (but was hot) and the area did not seem to have been cleaned nor restocked with towels over the weekend.
