“Wyndham should revoke the franchise”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

I usually stay at Motel 6s when I travel so I don't have high expectations, but at that, this place was gross with an upper-case G. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall; pieces of ceiling were falling out, the fire alarm was hanging off the wall. The TV screen was a fine martian red and there was no bathtub. The hotel staff were nice and the hotel might have been nice in the early 1970s.

I'd stay away.

“Why didn't I read the reviews first?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

Reserved two rooms, only one was ready at 5PM. The other was supposed to be ready at 6:00. The woman at the front desk told us they were overbooked and under-staffed the night before. When we came back from dinner at 9PM the room was being cleaned. The housekeeper told us she was cleaning it just because she noticed it needed to be cleaned, not because she was told to. This was after calling the front desk at 6:00 and inquiring. We got into the second room at 10PM. Did I mention the dozen or so shady characters hanging around outside smoking?

The next morning we discovered there were only two hand towels. A call to the desk at 7AM told us that there would be no towels for an hour. An hour? If I would have had an early commitment I would have been up the creek. In the afternoon after discovering there was no toilet tissue we were told to come to the front desk to get some. I would have spoken to the manager but he doesn't come in until 10:00 after we had to leave each day.

I have a child that just started at Syracuse and plan to visit the area several times a year for the next 4 years. I won't be staying here and neither will anyone in the area that I talk to. There are several other hotels in this price range very close by.

If you're traveling by yourself and you just need a place to sleep, it's probably fine. Just bring your own towels.

“Mold on Ceiling in Bathroom”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Pros: This hotel is cheap, close the Syracuse airport and easy to find. They do have wi-fi, although it is not extremely fast. Checking in and out was fast.

Cons: The entire hotel was in a state of disrepair. The lobby and hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. In my room, the light fixture in the bathroom was missing, and there was mold on the ceiling. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated annoyingly. The wall paper in the room was peeling, and the curtains appeared moth-eaten. Although the air conditioning did work, the cover fell off the unit in the middle of the night. The beds were uncomfortable, and I could hear everyone walking down the hallway.

After the first night, I left my room in the morning, and did not return until about 10:00PM. The houskeeping staff had removed the linens from the bed and taken the towels to wash, but had not returned them. The towels were still in the dryer when I inquired about them, and I never got the linens back(luckily I had two double beds in the room). Beyond removing the linens, they did not clean the room at all.

For the most part, the front desk staff looked like they would have preferred to be doing anything else other than manning the desk. The woman on the night shift actually had her small child behind the counter with her.

The minimal selection of breakfast foods looked very stale and unappetizing, so I didn't even bother trying them.

Overall, I regretted not spending more money to stay in a nicer hotel. I would never stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

“Run and hide - this hotel should be demolished!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

This was the worst experience I have ever had! First room had not been cleaned (at 6:00 p.m.). Moved to a 2nd non-smoking room, where someone had obviously been smoking recently. When I asked to be moved, the staff person sighed and said, "OK, but this is the LAST time I can move you." Really??? So, she considered moving me to a room that had been cleaned a request to be moved?? Are you kidding me?

Carpets are disgusting, wall paper falling off walls, one bathroom door hit the toilet so you couldn't shut it, had to wait 5 minutes for hot water to take a shower. You just wouldn't believe it.

Trust me on this one - I've never written a negative review in my life - but you will thank me.

“No Hot Water”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

We recently stayed at the Days INN which is located In Carrier Circle in Syracuse NY. We had a problem with no hot water for the first week that we were there. Now the front desk staff was very nice and did everything that they could to help us out and I appreciate that but the owner should be ashamed that a lot of the rooms didn't have hot water and alot of guests were complaining about this. We were eventualy moved to a different room and the water was hot but sometimes it was scalding hot and the water pressure was terrible. This place needs a major update in the rooms and the outside as well and to have the breakfest area expanded as the their were hardly any choices. The only way I would visit this property again would be to say hi to the staff and see how they were doing. Other than that I don't recommend this place to stay. Stay away from this place!!!
