“Great service - I'll be back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed here two nights - Jan 28th and Feb 4th. We took advantage of the park and fly rate of $139.

My initial impression of this hotel was that it was a typical Ramada - nothing special. The rooms were fairly unremarkable, save for a strange bathroom configuration. It appears that all of the rooms on the second floor have a suspended ceiling that requires the bathroom mirror to be mounted much closer to the floor than usual. For a tall person like myself, it makes it nearly impossible to use the mirror without squatting.

I'm giving this hotel 4/5 because of the staff. Everyone I interacted with here seemed to go the extra mile. Check in was smooth and efficient, the bar/restaurant staff were friendly and on the ball, the shuttle bus driver cheerfully drove me back to the hotel when I discovered I forgot something while en-route to the airport, the driver on the way back asked about my trip and had my car keys ready, etc. Judy (the manager) seems to run a tight ship here and it shows.

The rooms need a bit of updating, and the bathrooms would really benefit from a refit - but overall I would rate my experience here as positive. The park and fly option is cheaper and more secure than parking at Hancock airport. I will use this option again next time I fly from Syracuse.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first floor

“The worst hotel of our trip was here at the Ramada Inn.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Bed was uncomfortable (and we are not picky people). Lobby was crowded and loud because of their bar crowd. We didn't feel as though our rental car was safe. Shuttle took forever and the driver was friendly but talked too much.

I am sorry you felt that our hotel did not live up to your expectations.
The front desk staff is very accommodating and would have been more than happy to find you a more suitable room. I would also like to reassure you that the Ramada Syracuse is in a very safe area and we have staff on 24 hours. Please contact me personally next time you are visiting Syracuse. I would love to help to restore your faith in our wonderful Property.

“Home away from Home”

I often travel to Syracuse to work for the weekend and one of my favorite places to stay is this hotel. The spa/ pool facilities are immaculate. The breakfast is great and there is a full service restaurant available if I need to arrive late.
The staff is very upbeat and willing to please. I always look foward to their kind attitudes.

“A great choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Conveniently located right off the highway and less than 5 minutes from the Carousel Mall, this Inn is set back from the street with plenty of free parking (parking lot could use more lighting). Staff was very friendly and free wifi is available throughout.

Our room was located on the second floor equiped with 2 queen beds, LCD TV, bar fridge and microwave. Bathroom was standard with tub/shower. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us even with the portable twin bed supplied.

We enjoyed their clorinated pool (4 1/2 feet deep) and hot tub. Facility is clean & spacious with plenty of lounge chairs. They also have an exercise room with treadmills etc.

There is a restaurant and bar to enjoy, or if you rather there are two well known restaurants across the street and several other food service establishments in walking distance. A hot buffet breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes, french toast, muffins/bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices and coffee/tea was included in the room price (under $100).

Pleased with our stay, we enquired about the park & fly package. It includes 1 night stay, breakfast and shuttle to/from airport. Additional nights are at the regular rate. We have already recommended this Inn to friends.

“Good enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

It was good enough. We stayed here December 15th. We had an early flight the next day and live about an hour away from the Syracuse airport. Staying close to the airport would give us an extra hour sleep (it's a 10 minute drive from the airport). We booked their park and fly rate. This hotel was the only one that I could find that had a 24 hour airport shuttle. The shuttles from the other hotels in the area either did not start early enough to get us there for our departure or were not late enough for our arrival when we got back. I think the price was $139 for the night plus 7 nights of parking.

The hotel is a 2 story building, in a horseshoe shape, with a very grandstaircase off the lobby. We got a second story room, had very heavy bags and were unable to take them up the stairs. Unfortunately, the only elevator that we could find (the front desk person did not show us where it was) was at the other end of the hotel. So. we wheeled our bags to the other end of the hotel, went up the elevator, and had to go to the opposite end of the hotel again.

The room was clean and adequate. Nothing special about it but nothing bad about it either.

We really didn't feel like driving anywhere for dinner (it was cold and rainy outside), so we went down to the restaurant and bar area. There was a christmas party going on that was getting loud so we ordered our food to go from the bar and ate in the room. We both got steak sandwiches and were pretty good and were decently priced.

Unfortunately, we did not sleep very well. During the night, we could hear the Christmas music from the lobby, the obnoxious customers coming in around 2am slamming their car doors and yelling right under our window and the very loud tv in the room next too us.

The good parts - the coffee was hot and strong when we checked out the next morning and the driver was ready for us. The car was in one piece when we got back (which is always a good thing in my book). It had snowed earlier, it would have been nice though if they had cleaned the car off as they promised they would before we left, but no worries, we got it done!

If you are flying out of Syracuse Airport early and want to stay close to the airport the night before, we recommend it. Between the price of the room and the price to park at the airport, I think it is a good deal and we would probably stay there for the park and fly rate again.
