Stayed at Stearns Point House in Shelter Island this Summer. Clean and very basic, the managers Dave and Marie were great. Breakfast was ok, with fresh coffee, OJ, milk, muffins, bread, donuts, fruits. The building is an old farm of sorts, very basic with the land not that impressive, the grass field out front really in poor shape - don't know if it's the deers' fault. There is a cute porch where you can have your breakfast in the morning. No balconies. The King size room we had was good size, the king size bed was 2 small beds together. Clean bathroom. NO luxury here so overall we found the approx $180/night we paid to be excessive, but it may be OK for the location. It was NOT our first choice, but we booked last minute. Located very close to Crescent beach (5 minute walk) where a nice Freanch beach restaurant is located and a hotel. That is a plus.
