We were here for a wedding and decided to stay at the hotel. The folks at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The lobby was charming and the grounds beautiful with being right on the water. Our room was adequate and clean but had a smell to it. It was small and the bathroom was right out of another century! The towels were small and thin.My husband actually asked where I had put the bath towels. Perhaps I'm spoiled because I really enjoy staying at nice hotels. I knew the hotel was old so I expected pretty much what I got. The food was very good and if you are a "laid back and casual" person you might find this place very enjoyable.

Was there for a family wedding. The room was tiny, A/C didn't really cool the room, shades didn't open so we couldn't enjoy the view or have fresh air.

The entire hotel has a musty smell to it.

Very old fashioned, lovely hotel. clean, great service, poolside drinks are top notch.

The view from the deck is superb, the bar is great and the restaurant is excellent and it is a shame that it has not been rated by Zagat. I do not think that the other restaurants at the island were better than this one. We felt transported in time. As a beach hotel, we never expected to find the same exact comforts of our home in Manhattan. However, the hotel was clean, staff helpful and place just wonderful. It was a perfect summer getaway from the Big Apple. We had stayed in other places in Shelter Island and felt scared of ticks and mosquitoes. At the Pridwin, we felt very safe. The wonderful selection of Brazilian relaxing music at the bar and lounge area was another good surprise.
