The highs of this stay were the hotel's pleasant location and fairly nice room. Sadly, everything else was a low.
Just finding the place was frustrating. We had detailed directions, but twice drove right past the small, knee-level sign that marks the long access road into the hotel. The building is attractive, but not always comfortable. No air conditioning in public spaces like corridors, for example -- a minus in summer heat.
The free breakfast is handy, since there's only a Dunkin' Donuts nearby, but food is poor quality and basics like jam for toast just ran out. By day two, we were happy to pay Dunkin for much better coffee and a muffin.
Service was uneven. When I complained of dark brown water from our bathroom fixtures, a clerk shrugged it off. But later, a courteous manager offered a more informative answer, apparently had the problem fixed (water turned clear, allowing me to shower) and when we left, discounted our room rate for that day.
Not a terrible stay, but I'd be reluctant to return.
