We booked a room here for a weekend because of the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor and the other good press the inn has gotten in the past (obviously from when the owner was in residence, which she now is not). So we were surprised to discover how completely mediocre the place was. Very average breakfast by the caretaker who assured us he was the world's finest chef (!) and very average rooms make it a just OK place -- believe me, nothing great. We were dismayed that the pool was not cleaned out from the winter by our late-spring stay (the caretaker had more important things to do -- he and his family left for the day to attend a local party) and reservation communication was virtually nonexistent (we tried to make a reservation by email, then by phone, and had given up when we finally heard back). We wouldn't say don't stay here (the location is quiet and peaceful, the place is clean), just please take all the fabulous praise with a huge grain of salt!!
