“Great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

My Fiancé and I visit Saratoga Springs often and this is one of the most charming Inn’s I’ve ever been to in Saratoga. It’s located within walking distance to town and the track. If you’re lucky enough to stay there during the racing season you can watch everyone walk by while having a gin and tonic on the wrap around front porch. While the rooms are not huge they are charming and comfortable. The grounds are very nice as well. The Inn is also dog friendly and they were even kind enough to watch our dog while we had dinner. If you’re looking to experience a little of the old time Saratoga glamour this is a great place to stay.

“Such History!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Not one to usually stay at a B&B because we like to move at our own pace and not incovenience anyone, this place all reservations aside (pun intended).

Saratoga Springs is just a lovely historical city, and the genuine history of this Inn is well preserved/restored. If you read into the various housings this Inn has served, it's amazing how much work was put in to restore it to its original elegance. When we booked we had the option to choose our room from the pictures they offered on their website based on availability. When you first arive you're pleasantly surprised by the lovely maincured grounds, the vast wrap around deck and the sheer opulence of the building itself, set on a corner grounds just 2 blocks walk from the park. The keepers are youthful and friendly and obviously care alot about this home and their guests. We chose the Annie room, a second floor corner unit, painted in hunter green with many period pieces strewn throughout. There is a fireplace in the foyer, a fireplace in the sitting/living room and magazines offered for leisurely reading. You're really here on your own pace, come and go as you wish, just be mindful that there are others staying here as well, so mindfulness of your "volume" is appreciated. Everything is just so lovely, the wood beam ceilings with their intricate design, the grandfather clock, the wine nook and wash basin in the living room and little breakfast nooks in the foyer as well to enjoy an intimate breakfast with your mate. When we woke on Sunday morning, not only was a lovely spread put out, with parfait, muffins, bagels, croissants, granola and cereal, but we learned after we stuffed ourselves that fresh made french toast and bacon were also put out in the other room. Tea, coffee and water were readily available even after breakfast were put out. Really felt like home.

The Inn keepers were absolutely lovely as well. We had a train out later that evening and since we didnt have a car, we had no place to stow our bags and didnt want to lug them around the town while we finished up our sight seeing, so they graciously offered to hold our backpacks until we returned to pick them up and head to the train. Lest I forget the great conversation, tips and recommendations they offered, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Choice location, you'll love it!

Room Tip: Just look at the "map" of rooms and request your room of choice, depending on availability...

“Extremely comfortable, beatiful house and very short walk into center of town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Stayed in the Cindy room a suite with 2 rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and everyone slept really comfortably. Breakfast was very, very good. Pool table in the parlor was a really nice added bonus. The worst thing I could say is that they need to but 1 or 2 new pool cues as the one full sized on they have is broken.
All in all an excellent stay and we'd definitely go back.

“A great inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

My wife and I stayed one night at this wonderful old Victorian mansion about a month ago. Everything was great - beautiful room, excellent location and very friendly innkeepers. I highly recommend it and will choose it again for my next stay in Saratoga Springs!!

“Charming but showing signs of wear and tear”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

If you are looking for the Saratoga Springs historical experience this place delivers it. A charming old Victorian big on charm but with some wear and tear you wouldn't find in modern boutique hotels, it's very much a reflection of the town it's in.

It's saying something that even though there were window blinds completely missing on one window in our room and the bathrooms are very dated and not in good way, think 1980's not 1880's the overwelming charm our room, the downstairs with it's two fireplaces that were lit every day and the fresh baked cookies in the evening as well as a nice breakfast in the morning made up for the discomfort.

If you like Victorian charm more than luxury beds and are ok without flatscreens and modern features then this is a great place to stay. .
