This is a somewhat odd property, because the exterior and front lobby are completely renovated and fantastic, though once you go past the lobby to the rooms, it quickly becomes quite dreary and worn. So 5-star exterior, 2-star interior.
Cons:
Our room had some serious electrical/wiring issues. We had to prop our luggage against an outlet to keep the lamp working. Also the light by the door flickers nonstop.
Decor: decidedly 80s
TV: Also 80s. Also we had to (playfully) hit each with the remote to get the remote to work on the old TV with refresh rate issues.
We're not picky travelers and usually just laugh off all the little eccentricities with accommodations. But given the # of things we had to laugh off plus the worn state of the room, can't give it more than 2 stars :(. The fridge and microwave stacked on top of the shelf blocking the mirror was also an odd touch (wires for the fridge not long enough to reach outlet otherwise?)
Check in: as a PC platinum I'm used to getting the spiel when I check in (thank you for being a loyal PC member...here are what you are entitled too [explanation of benefits, discounts etc]). I received none of that and little eye contact when I checked in. I'm not an elite status snob so that's not a big deal, however did find that unusual...and must admit now that I wasn't acknowledged, I kind of missed it.
Pros:
Bed: comfortable
Lobby is good
Wait staff: when we ate at the restaurant for breakfast, the wait staff proactively looked up my room/status and told us a free continental breakfast came with the room. This of course is something the check-in staff should've told me. I certainly appreciated this gesture by the wait staff however: and their service was friendly.
As a place to crash for the night on the way to an ulterior destination (as in our case), the property serves its purpose. I stayed on points however, and doubt I would've been happy if I had to shell out more than $60 as the rooms are badly in need of renovation. If that can be done plus with better service from the front staff, probably the property can get better reviews.

Hello,
Thank you for the comments regarding your stay. I am overseeing a Priority Club training program that shows our front desk staff not only how to greet a PC member but to also let them know the benefits of being a PC member and what that entitles them to during their stay. I thank you for bringing this to my attention. We are currently in the planning process to redesign the property and hopefully this will lessen the maintenance issues and cosmetic look to the hotel. Thanks for staying with us!
