“Great hotel but noisy heating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

We stayed for 3 nights with our infant, we had a room right at the end of the corridor so it was very quiet. There is also little traffic noise from outside. When we arrived the porta-crib was already set up with an extra blanket on the mattress for a bit of additional comfort. The room was very comfortable and a decent size as was the bathroom. My main complaint about the room was that because of the large windows it got quite cold at night which required us to use the noisy heating unit, thankfully though our baby slept through it. The area around the hotel has a few restaurants within walking distance but the hotel also has its own mini bistro that provides basic meals like soups and sandwiches. The breakfast prices weren't overpriced and the quality was quite good. The in-room wireless and cable worked great and was pretty fast.

“Met our needs, but rooms could use some upgrading”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Overall, considering the options in the area, this was not bad. The hotel is very comfortable in terms of amenities and the staff is very helpful. Very nice lobby area with an easy to access and use business area. While there is no real restaurant on the premises, between the small gift/snack shop and what they call The Bistro (basically counter service), you can get what you need to eat and drink if you are not looking for fine dining. And there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes drive. So, generally, we were pleased with the public areas. The rooms were okay, but two things stand out that need some attention. There were several spots of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. We did not notice this until late in the evening and were checking out early the next morning, otherwise we would have asked for another room. Secondly, the sheets felt very old. They were clean, but didn't feel too great. Otherwise, the room was nicely appointed. All in all, it's a decent place for a quick trip to the area.

“Everything we needed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

Friendly, helpful desk staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Everything we needed.

By the way, while in Rochester go to Dinosaur BBQ. Great food, great atmosphere.

“Finally a sliding door!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

Have been there numerous times, good value for business traveller, they finally fixed a sliding door at front! Ask for special rate for "Guests of Strong Memorial Hospital", might be cheaper than your corporate rate. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

“new looking Courtyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

We stayed here for 1 night on the way to Niagara Falls. Check-in was quick, smooth and professional. Our room was located away from the loud hockey kids and families also staying, which was appreciated. The hotel and room furnishings all appeared new and very nice. The bed and linens were comfortable and cosy. We had a fridge in the room which we had requested.
There was a background generator type rumbling noise all night that kept me awake. This is common at many Marriotts I have stayed in.
Complementary coffee and tea at reception is a nice touch, especially as we were away early in the morning and didn't stay for breakfast. The hotel was clean overall but some parts of our room were dusty (ie the bedside table you could write your name in the dust) so I think a more thorough cleaning team is needed. However I would stay here again.
If you are a beer lover we could recommend the Rohrbach Brewing Company a few miles away for dinner and good beer. Makes a change from the chain restaurants and you get to see the local area too.
