“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

This Holiday Inn Express is about what you would expect from this chain of hotels. Average. The room was nice, small, comfortable. The room had all the basic amenities - small refrigerator, microwave, etc. The facility is located in two separate buildings. A pet peeve of mine is that there is no fan in the bathroom, so when you shower, it turns into a sauna.
The staff seemed to be nice and competent. However, I had on phone call where I was not impressed at all with the service I received from one of the front desk staff. He even hung up on me! When I called back, he said it was by mistake, but I was still shocked. He was short, and not very helpful.
The hotel is centrally located and right off of 390. Easy to get to.
Would I go back? Maybe. But I will probably try other hotels in the area first.

“Quiet Room,No Microwave.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012

Stayed in this hotel the year before and was upgraded to a suite when the room we were given was already occupied by another customer. This year we stayed on the second floor of the hotel. Positives- Room was clean, lots of pillows to sleep and lots of tv stations. Negatives- No microwave in room. Had to go down to first floor and reheat food in a dirty small microwave that was in the ice room. Air conditioning was sporadic. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Staff was excellent. Guy came to room to check on air conditioning. Rooms need to be renovated as they are getting old looking. Breakfast standard fare. Overall it was close to the golf course that we needed to get to and the room was quiet. Little pricey compared to other Holiday Inns with more amenities and better rooms. Was satisified for what I needed the room for.

Laurmich96,

Thank you very much for your response and feedback on your stay with us. We are on schedule for a property renovation this year and we will be changing the look and feel of each of our guest rooms along with our common spaces. Along with that we will have microwaves in each guest room for better guest convenience. We hope you will stay with us again when you come to Rochester for your golfing trips. “Room was dirty in corners. Tan / orange mold in corners in bath.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2012

In addition to no being clean the two employees who checked us in wanted to photo copy our credit card. Then then said they keep the copies in a box in the basement. Very poor privacy / security procedures.

Wmdpowell,

Thank you for your review of your experience with us, we are starting renovations and will be going to each room and remodeling them. I can assure you that this wasn't mold it was just old caulk that was placed around sealing the corners. All this caulk will be replaced when we do the renovations. As for your security every piece of guest information is locked up in storage according to the new credit card safety acts and is destroyed per their standards. I do hope you will give us the opportunity on your next travel to Rochester so that we can show you the customer service that you would expect.
