To paraphrase another recent review, this place is puzzling, and what you experience may depend entirely on the building you are put in and the room you get and how full the motel is, but I suspect your chances will not be good. If the price is all you can afford, it might work for a night or two. If you can, look in another location.
The staff were all very polite and helpful, and there was at least coffee and packaged pastry in the morning, but the room pictures on the website bore no resemblance to our actual room, which had a bad smell and water leaking onto the bathroom floor from somewhere (I don't think about it.) All the rooms in our building were "salvaged" from a former life with previous doors sealed up and window aircon units installed with foam board making up the gaps (the old aircon units were still in place.)
The "adjacent" restaurant looked like it has been shut down for years. While you can walk to town, it is across a busy traffic circle, and anyway I would not recommend walking in the neighborhood after dark.
I know the room prices are high in Riverhead, which is puzzling also. Riverhead is really trying with a nice waterfront walk and park and a couple of really nice shops and restaurants on main street in addition to the aquarium and water park and I guess huge mall, the latter probably causing at least two blocks of shuttered shops on main street, really too bad for the main part of the town
