“Weekend Getaway”

My boyfriend and I went to Hilton Garden Inn because Groupon had a deal that included wine tasting. We went for 2 nights and had a good time. When we arrived the receptionist was very friendly and professional. She informed us that the pool wasn't available but gave us a discount to the spa. We went to our room and then decided that we wanted a room with a jacuzzi. The front desk helped us with that and we were in our new room. The room was a good size and was clean. I was excited about the bed because you can control how firm the bed is with a knob on the side. Unfortunately, one side didn't work. We did inform the front desk of this and they suggested to give it some time and if that didn't work that they would call someone in to look at it. It wasn't a big deal so we didn't bother. The bed was big and had plenty of pillows.

Meals - It was very good, it is like a mini buffet but has a lot of selection. You can also order pancakes, french toast, omelets, etc. The staff was friendly and you left full and satisfied. We didn't have dinner there though so I cannot comment on it.

Wine tasting - The guide arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. We went to 3 different locations. It was a small group and everyone had a good time.

Outlets - They are across the street but you have to take the highway and make an u-turn but its like 5 minutes away. There was plenty of parking and wasn't very crowded like other outlets.

Overall, it was a good trip and i would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway.

Thank you for your review and taking the time to include details from your stay. We had a project extend longer than expected with a resurfacing project on our pool. I am most sorry for the inconvenience and I want to personally invite you back again as my guest for an overnight stay as our pool is back and I would like you to come and enjoy it. I could not find your profile by your trip advisor name as I would have sent you a direct e-mail. Thank you again!

“Mini-Vacation”

We truly loved our time at the Hilton! Went on a mini-vacation (only 1.5 hours away from home) with the kids to visit the Outlets and the Aquarium. This hotel was a perfect choice! The staff was terrific, and the rooms were spacious, well decorated, and super-comfortable! I usually don't sleep well in hotels, but this bed was so comfortable that I slept right through the night (as did my kids). The breakfast staff was delightful and were very concerned for our needs. The location of the hotel was ideal: right across from the outlets, and a few minutes away from the aquarium. This was truly a destination spot worth recommending to all my friends!

“A pleasant getaway from the city”

My family recently spent a long weekend in Riverhead to get away from the city, visit a few wineries and take in some outlet shopping.

The location is very close to the Tanger Outlet, which is across the street. Even so it is worth noting that the highway makes you travel a mile away from the shopping to turnaround and come back.

The hotel was very clean and has a restaurant in the hotel which allows them to offer roomservice in addition to the typical breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed a few meals at the hotel and I would say it was good for a hotel, but there are other local restaurants worth visiting. The pool was small but was thoroughly enjoyed by our kids and helped burn off some energy that outlet shopping just can satisfy.

The lobby is large and has a fireplace which was nice to arrive and warm up too before heading up to your room.

The location is nice, only a few miles from the Aquarium and of course the Tanger is across the street. We also took a drive out to visit a few of the North fork wineries, which are only a short drive away. The hotel offers a tour with shuttle buses that leave from the hotel, but we decided to do our own thing.

“Perfect for fall visit to the east end”

We like to head out to the east end of LI around Halloween for our pumpkin picking, etc. This spot was a perfect place to lay our heads after making the trip out on Friday night. We woke up Saturday and had the whole day for fun. Very comfortable beds, good size room, etc. We should have gone for the breakfast in the lobby, but instead, we went on a wild goose chase looking for a diner that was misplaced on Google maps. I'm sure the full service breakfast in the lobby would have been just as good and simpler. Short run from Harbes farms and Briermere farms, our favorite stops. Wine country is right there too, and there are a number of packages in which you can leave the driving to someone else for the day.

“A Touch of Home Away From Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I had the pleasure of staying at this property while on business in Riverhead, NY. I liked the proximity of the parking to the hotel entrance; the lobby was pleasant and inviting. When I introduced myself at the reception desk, I was greeted warmly by name and as an HHonors guest. My room reservation was in order, and I was informed that my selected pillows were on the bed. I was offered (but declined) an upgrade to a room with a whirlpool. The reception agent gave me two bottles of cold water, and baked cookies were available at the desk; she remembered my name later in the evening. In the restaurant, the friendly counter person quickly brewed fresh complimentary coffee for me with my requested condiments (and would not even accept a tip!).
I was surprised at how spacious the room was; complete with microwave, fridge, and very modern TV and clock-radio. Good array of TV stations available. Room temp was perfect, and the HVAC maintained the temp and did not make any noticeable noise. Ample lighting throughout. Efficient, comfortable work space, desk, and chair; lots of electrical outlets. Easy wi-fi connection available. Good water pressure, water temp, and plumbing and drainage in the bathroom. Very clean and ample supply of towels and linens; extra pillows on bed, which also had adjustable firmness settings. Room was quiet and drapes kept the light out.
Nice healthy choices at breakfast (mini or full buffet). Prompt, pleasant service in restaurant and at check-out desk. (Noticed on the way out that the pool was closed for renovation.)
Many of my associates in the local area told me they were aware that the property was just totally upgraded and it had a good reputation. I found my stay here to be superior to the Hilton hotel in Melville and many other "branded" properties on Long Island. Great value; no hassles or difficulties. Would definitely return in the future. (Note-- For anyone who loves outlet shopping, Inn is located right across from a major one in the area.)

Room Tip: Room was very quiet even though it faced front parking lot. Not much scenery.
