“I absolutely loved it here”

I was a vendor at the Dutchess County Fair and stayed here at the Stone Church Road Bed and Breakfast. It was a haven to come home to! My room was lovely, super clean and fresh ( freshly ironed sheets even!). The house is on a beautiful forested property and the summer night sounds were intoxicating. The air is fresh and fragrant and the whole atmosphere of the place is relaxing and calming. I went for walks down to the Rhinebeck Aerodrome ( the forested backyard leads to the grassy runway) and watched a couple of bi-planes take off. Marcia, the hostess would greet me in the evenings, after a very long day at the Fair, with a glass of wine or hot chamomile tea... as I wished. Breakfast in the mornings were delicious! Even though I worked very hard all day at our booth, from 10am to 10pm, demonstrating our Nikita Convertible Furniture ( see us on the web at justleanback.com and you will understand why it needed continuous demonstrating), it felt like a vacation when I arrived "home" at the Stone Church Bed and Breakfast.... because of its quiet, peaceful and serene location and Marcia's care and attention.

“Everything I could have wished for--and more!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We were primarily looking for a comfortable place to stay in Rhinebeck while I attended a weeklong workshop at the nearby Omega Institute. I chose the Stone Church B&B more or less by chance--and struck the jackpot!

From the moment we arrived, my boyfriend and I were delighted at our choice...and it just got better from there. The inn is located on a picturesque stretch of country road and set back against a lovely, secluded wooded setting. Our spacious room was comfy, clean, private, and inviting, well-appointed & interesting without being overly fussy--and with plenty of windows overlooking the inn's large deck, garden, and woods. A ceiling fan over the bed and an air-conditioner insured that we'd be perfectly comfortable even during the hottest week of the summer!

Our hostess Marsha was wonderful! She was everything you could wish for in an innkeeper. She made us feel right at home from the moment of our arrival and without exaggeration our delicious breakfasts each morning at Stone Church were one of the favorite parts of our entire trip! Blueberry pancakes, french toast, omelets, muffins, fresh fruit every morning--all of it major yummo! You could hardly have a bad day after a breakfast like that!

For those also considering Stone Church as a place to stay while attending the Omega Institute, the inn is a pleasant 15 minute drive away. I was able to get from the Inn to Omega easily on-time for every day of my workshop. An extra bonus was that the Rhinebeck Aerodrome was located right down the road and even has a discount worked out for guests of the inn during the summer.

I would recommend Stone Church B&B without hesitation whether you're planning an extended stay in the Rhinebeck area, a short-term stop-over, or a romantic weekend get-a-way. It's a real gem!

“Cream scones to die for! A comfortable B and B near Bard College that sure beats the motel options”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2010

We're parents of a Bard College student and during the past two years, we've stayed at Stone Church B and B at least six times while visiting our daughter. It's perfect for our needs: convenient, simple, affordable, and friendly. Marsha and Richard have four comfortable upstairs bedrooms, neat and clean with good beds. Marsha does incredible home baking for breakfast, which is served in a separate lounge area. Her cream scones are to die for! Usually, there's a fresh fruit salad, plain yoghurt, juice, scones or muffins, and an entree such as blueberry pancakes, french toast, or eggs with bacon or sausage. You won't leave hungry. The innkeepers are very accommodating about breakfast times --and for returnees, late arrivals,--and they gladly included our daughter at breakfast. This is THE place if you want simple, practical comfort, a friendly innkeeper, and a quiet country location in between Rhinebeck and Red Hook. If you need luxury, a historic inn, or antique furnishings, or are seeking the perfect spot for a honeymoon, try someplace else. This is a good haven for a business traveler, conference or concert goer, or someone visiting the college. Suitable for families, well priced, and you won't find a nicer host.

“Cozy and welcoming...”

Had a wonderful experience at Stone Chursch B & B! Was warmly welcomed by the owners and very much enjoyed the cozy peacefulness of my room. I ended up meeting interesting folks in the greatroom. Also loved that I could play romantic and nostalgic records on the turntable, and play ping-pong! Great! The surrounding area is lovely, and I had a nice solitary walk during my stay. Can't wait for my next visit!
