“Adequate and inexpensive place to sleep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

This was a budget motel with typical flaws of most older hotels...halls and rooms not thoroughly cleaned,(dust in corners, etc.); stains on hallway carpets; no lock on exterior door to parking lot, minor tears in wallpaper, room coffeemaker had replacement carafe that was the wrong size and wouldn't let the coffee drain from the basket, etc. The breakfast buffet is minimal--coffee, juice, packaged bagels, donuts and muffins....one day there was cereal and milk; the next day they were "out" because "the construction workers must have really liked the milk today". Quiet, cool, TV, bathroom modernized and functional. Swimming pool was open but didn't have time to test it out.

All in all it was okay.

“Room was adequate, carpet was sticky and filthy-front desk 'man' was one of the most rude ever-anywhere!!”

Being near Amtrak is the only reason we stayed here. I was told on the phone that there would be transportaion to the station, as we had a 9:30 train-the only one of the day.
At 8:30 we were told by the front desk person that no such offer was made and we were "wasting our time" & we have no shuttle service. It was implied that I had invented my phone conversation. We had no car and the more we tried to communicate the more rude this staff member became. Fearing we would miss the only train that day to Niagra Falls we were rescued by a bystander that was also staying there and overheard this man and his high level of rudeness. This kind elderly gentleman took us in his car to the station. I would never submit myself to this level of behavior no matter what the bargain or convenience. Also after a shower and a brief walk on the carpet our feet were black and 'gummy' from the grimey carpet.

“Nice place”

I stayed here because it was 5 minutes away from the Amtrak station. The room was nice, with a microwave, refrigerator, nice channel lineup, and good internet service. My only complaint was the air freshener smell which seemed to be used to cover up the odor of smoke, but I opened the windows to clear it out.

“Excellent budget motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2009

I have been leery of the Econo Lodge brand in the past, but this is my 2nd very positive experience. This motel was better than many locations of Red Roof Inn or Holiday Inn Express. My room was a basic room there, but had a microwave, fridge, hair dryer, clock radio, not to mention shampoo which is a disappearing amenity these days. Free breakfast from 6am to 9:30 (basic - bagels, muffins, donuts, orange juice, cereal) and free coffee round the clock in the lobby. Free wireless internet - you get the user name and password from the front desk and with that you're all set. I had no trouble connecting and it was relatively fast. Nice little work desk with lamp. Good selection of cable channels with HBO. I had no trouble with noise as some people have mentioned - there was someone in the next room but I never heard them talking or their TV or anything. Bathroom was large and clean. The toilet had a problem when I first got there - water wouldn't stop running and was spilling out of the tank. I called the front desk and maintenance arrived within five minutes, fixed the problem and cleaned up the water. Can't ask for more than that. If you're looking for low cost lodging that is still comfortable, safe and clean, this is it.
