Night desk lady was pleasant, and the room rate was do-able. But that's where the good times ended. I am a retired trucker, and have been in some holes before, this rates right up with the worst of them. The room COULD have been great, nice little kitchenette sort of thing, it would be perfect for families travelling, or for a longer term business stay. BUT it was filthy. Silverfish in the sinks and tub, one washcloth and towel, sheets had been washed but poorly, and didn't fit the bed, one rollover and the fitted sheets were pulled loose revealing a stained, old mattress and a thin and not very clean throwover pad. I checked close and found no sign of critters, or I would have slept in my car. Utensils in the kitchen drawer were unwashed. Bathroom floor filthy, carpets old and grubby, chairs stained to the point where I have seen cleaner in a machine shop break room. While not a big thing, the TV was an old, small unit. At checkout, totally different impression of the guy behind the counter, and not a positive one. Big sign out front by the highway advertising the heated pool, which, upon entering the lobby turned out to be "closed until further notice"...wonder what was in the water?
The place appears to be a haven for transient contractors, truckers and so on, who use it as either a regular stop, or temporary lodging while on a job in the area, and it showed. I crashed for a few hours, got up earlier than planned, and couldn't even bring myself to use the shower. $69.00 for one night was still about 3X what this place was worth.
NOT a place for families, or couples who want a nice place to stay while visiting a kid at SUNY or sightseeing in the area, and leaves a pi** poor impression of the region. The owners need to throw some money at this place instead of just taking it in. Look elsewhere.
