“Less than Pleased”

My wife and I stopped at this Econo Lodge on our way down to Boston, coming down from Canada. We noticed right away that the toilet bowl was not clean. The room itself appeared not to have been vacuumed. I did not like the fact that the outside entrances, were able to be opened without a key card. The continental breakfast was quite minimal.
We ate dinner at the Ponderosa Steak House which was fine. Overall, I can't recommend this motel as it wasn't very clean or secure.

“Horrified !!!”

Ewww..... The worst hotel we've been too. I have never seen anything like it. The worst was when my husband and I we're about to go to bed. When taking the comforter off, full of "body" hair all over the blanket and sheets. Not a hair or two but I mean full everywhere. I did not want to sleep there that night I was so revolted. Let alone the dingy dirty bathrooms. I rather camp out, save your money.

“Decent accommodations with a waffle maker.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

Checked into the EconoLodge for night's lodging. The older gentleman who greeted me was exceptionally polite and told me that they had vacancies. He offered a kingsized bed which when applying CAA discount came out to about $85. There are actually several sections to this EconoLodge which includes renters ( people who rent to live at the Lodge due to their job situation). The rest of us were given rooms in the back of the complex. My room was spacious and it included a freezer on top of the fridge. There was also a huge comfortable chair with a foot rest in front of the television. The bathroom was somewhat on the small side. The only unsightly spot was an area in the corner of the ceiling which looked like it needed to be fixed and painted. I slept reasonably well and in the morning went for a complementary breakfast which included items such as cereals, breads, juices and waffles. The waffle part was quite interesting cause I have never used one so that small experience was a bonus. Mind you, the texture of the waffle batter was somewhat simple, nevertheless, I ate the waffle once it was formed. This complex also has internet and a pool but unfortunately I did not get a chance to use them. Overall, it was a decent stay and I would recommend it to others.

“Good motel. Great staff. Sound value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

This is a solid, but not elegant, motel -- probably typical of a good EconoLodge (not all are this good). The location is set back far from the street, so it is quiet. They staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had two mechanical problems -- TV remote did not work and the ice machine was jammed -- and both were immediately corrected by very competent and pleasant staff. It has both and indoor and outdoor pool, washing machines, etc. Breakfast room was large enough. This motel is a good value, albeit not new, and I would stay there again.

“we'll go back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

We had a room with a kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and jacuzzi tub for around $150.00 a night.

The kitchen had a little fridge, a sink, a microwave, and a coffeemaker. It also had some dishware, silverware, and linens.

The jacuzzi tub was separate from the "master bedroom" and I think the sofa in the living room pulled out into a double bed. There was also a recliner to die for! It was so comfortable, now I want to buy one.

The chambermaid (are they still called that?) forgot to restock the coffee the first day (we also forgot the tip, coincidence?), so I called the front desk and they were at the door within 20 minutes with coffee. Can't ask for better service than that.

The main office is near Route 3 but the hotel proper is off the main highway behind the office. There was no elevator that we found, so you had to drag your suitcase up the steps. The other downside is the smell of stale cigarette smoke in the main entrance.

We went during a bass tournament on Lake Champlain so the view was of bass boats in the parking lot which were fun to see.

The hotel room was so comfortable and relaxing, we didn't do half the things we planned on doing in Plattsburgh. They offer free wi-fi but don't rely on it, it's spotty at best.

They have an outdoor pool and an indoor pool and the fitness center is a stair stepper in a room off the indoor pool.

The business center has one terminal off a hallway that reeks of stale cigarette smoke.
