Had to stay in Plattsburgh last night and stayed at the latest reincarnation of this little hotel now owned by the La Quinta chain. We have stayed here before when it was under different ownership. The service is polite and the rooms clean. Problem is that not everything works in every room. We were first given a room where the sink would not allow the water to go down. The front desk moved us to another room which was fine except the telephone was broken and did not work. Since we use our own cell phones, it wasn't a problem. Internet is free which is a plus these days since so many hotels have begun or are still charging for access. Bedding is a bit frayed. towels are thick and fluffy. Only one bar of soap makes for a problem when you need it at the sink and it is in the tub. Breakfast is adequate, breads, muffins, bagels, yogurt, cereal (no skim milk), waffles and hard boiled eggs, along with coffee and juice. Bananas and apples were in the lobby. We didn't use the pool, although it was right outside our door and seemed to be empty most of the time. Room rates are reasonable with discounts for AAA and AARP. Definitely would stay again if we were in Plattsburgh for the night. Your choice for the reason for the trip did not include medical which was why we were there.
