“Another fabulous stay!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

We stayed at the Point au Roche Lodge for our second time over Thanksgiving weekend. I can't say enough about the Lodge or the Lodgekeepers, Karen and Creston. Wonderful location, wonderful Lodge, and wonderful breakfasts! Very relaxing with a state park across the street and a great place for getting a new perspective on life. We would highly recommend this Lodge for people who want a relaxing, quiet, back to nature stay.

“Warm ambiance, great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

We stayed for 2 nights and despite so-so weather we had a great time. We planned to do a lot of hiking but due to the rainy weather could not do it most of the time. However we had such a good time relaxing with a book in a gazebo and cuddling up near a fireplace lit especially for us. Beautiful rooms and very impressive great room, great breakfasts and very nice hosts ... what else to wish for for a quaint getaway.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

What a beautiful B&B with the coolest great room/living room and indoor deck. Karen and Creston run a real gem just outside Plattsburgh, NY near Lake Champlain. The Lodge is across the street from Point Au Roche State Park which is a great place to spend the day relaxing lakeside in the sun or going on nature hikes with beautiful views. The rooms are large and very clean. We stayed in the Planter Room which was huge with a pristine jacuzzi and fireplace with a balony overlooking the park. The breakfasts prepared by former chef Creston are delicious where you can birdwatch from your seat which looks out over an open meadow. For the first time in my 47 years living in NJ, I saw NJ's state bird the goldfinch right there! Nearby Plattsburgh is a quaint little college town. The entire area is beautiful farmland with wonderful views as you drive along. Great place to enjoy bike rides, too. If you're looking for R&R, this is the place to go. Be sure stop at Ausable Chasm during your stay, too. Hope to return again on a visit to Montreal in the future. Iris' Cafe in Plattsburgh was an excellent dinner choice.

“Beautiful B&B in a Beautiful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

We found this B&B to have every amenity that we were looking for during our vacation. There was a computer w/printer provided for guest use and also WiFi was available. They also provided a refrigerator and wine glasses for guest use. Both were in the common guest area and available 24/7. There was also a great common room with many comfortable seating arrangements, magazines, books, and games provided for guest use. Our room was beautiful with a balcony looking out over the back fields. Great place to enjoy wine and cheese and crackers! Breakfast was delicious with a choice of a waffle w/bananas and pecans or an omelette w/ham and cream cheese. Thank you Karen and Creston for a wonderful experience. “Pure delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

The lovely log cabin-style lodge was originally built to be a B&B and was thoughtfully designed to beautifully serve that purpose. For us, it was a stopping place on our way to a vacation at Mont Tremblant, Canada, but for others, it was a destination. The property, north of the city and a short distance from the Northway, is attractive and is very close to Lake Champlain and the park. Karen greeted us and showed us to our lovely room. We selected the first floor Weaver unit with king bed, whirlpool tub, fireplace, bath with shower, and a pleasant deck. The room was attractively furnished and very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the deck until the mosquitos drove us in, but from there we moved to the screened gazebo. The common area is spacious, with a cathedral ceiling and stairs to a second floor walk-way to deck. Window walls and a fireplace add to the rustic charm. Ample seating and reading material are available. We drove into Plattsburgh for dinner. After reviewing the owners' recommendations, we selected Irises and were not disappointed. In fact, that meal proved superior to any on our week vacation. Breakfast prepared by Crestonwas wonderful--my husband selected the herbed omelette; I opted for the orange French toast. Karen gave us information on an alternate border crossing, which was quick. We would go back and highly recommend the lovely, meticulously maintained B&B.
