I am a person who travels to Painted Post two days a week for work and have been staying at the Corning Inn one night a week for the last two years. The rates are very affordable and the hotel is consistently clean. The staff is always accommodating to all of my needs. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends if they travel to the Painted Post area.

I was staying there for a week when I first moved to the area until I found a place to stay long term. The manager (KP?) and I had a little bit of conversation a couple times when we passed in the hall or at breakfast. He talked of his wife and daughter and I of my new job. One time I added an additional two nights to my stay, he showed me he gave me a better deal than I had before. Then I was leaving for my room and he gave me a hug and rubbed my shoulders because he said I looked like I had a rough day at work. I didn't think anything of it, I thought it was his culture and he was being friendly. Long story short he tried to kiss me and said we could "figure something out" if I wanted to stay longer for a cheaper rate. He even invited me to his room. Of course I hustled to my room freaked out. The next day I avoided breakfast and anywhere he'd be. The front desk called my room twice (for no reason). The internet was not working so I called to ask to have the wifi reset. He said he would look into it. Ten minutes later he knocked on my door (you don't need to fix the wifi in people's rooms). Of course I didn't answer. I found somewhere else to stay and will never be going back because he came onto me without any encouragement or inkling that I was interested. Heck he's at least in his fifties (his wife even works at the hotel) and I'm 22. I felt so uncomfortable and suggest that no woman stay there if she's alone.

Needed a clean, comfortable, and inexpensive place to do an overnight near Corning, NY and this place fit the bill. I'm usually wary of inexpensive places in the US because often though they might be clean, they have mildew or smoker smells and Corning Inn was fresh and pleasant. The staff was also very pleasant. It's just a 5-minute drive into Corning downtown and to the museum. And you couldn't beat the price. Great value for a good stay.
