the room was clean, the staff is outstanding, very friendly.

Holiday Inns come in 2 categories, ancient and funky from the 70's decor, or newly remodeled and pretty nice. This hotel looks like all of the rooms were just remodeled (Jan 2010) and the lobby was being remodeled at the time I was staying there. It is very close to the Lockheed Martin plant in town, and there are a couple of fast food places accross the street (McDonalds, Subway and I think a grocery store). There was one strange thing though, while the rooms looked fantastic, they did not remodel the bathrooms. I think they put in a new shower head, but the ceiling was rusty and the floor had some stains behind the toilet. Overall it was a clean bathroom, but it was in stark contrast to the modern room. It was not enough to ruin the stay however, just kind of odd.

I had a non-smoking room with a king-sized bed. The room was large and clean, with cable TV and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable with about 6 pillows. There was an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was immaculately clean, had modern fixtures, a hair dryer, heat lamp, shampoo/conditioner/lotion, shower cap, 3 face towels, 3 medium-sized towels and 3 large towels. The indoor pool and universal gym next door at the Owego Treadway Inn were in very good condition and just next door. Front desk receptionist was very friendly and offered a wake up call. Free buffet continental breakfast was ok (egg omelet, bacon, cereal, milk, juice, croissants, pastries). Overall, excellent value for $100 per day. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

I wasn’t expecting too much when I reserved a room at this hotel since the pictures on the website didn’t look all that great. But all the other hotels in the area were booked up, and we needed a room. However, when we arrived, we were very pleasantly surprised. There was a little mix-up at check in – we were given the wrong room, and then the keys to the right one didn’t work at first, but after everything was sorted out, we settled into our spacious, clean room with a kitchen that had a refrigerator, stovetop, sink and microwave. There were even dishes and silverware in the cabinets. The room décor wasn’t anything fancy, but it was okay. The beds were comfortable and had extra pillows and duvet covers rather than bedspreads, and there was plenty of lighting for reading. The bathroom was a decent size, although there could have been more counter space. The complimentary continental breakfast had the usual offerings – bagels, muffins, Danish, hot and cold cereals, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, coffee and tea. There wasn’t a pool, fitness room or restaurant on-site, but guests were able to use the facilities at the Holiday Inn’s sister hotel, the Treadway, Inn, which was located next door. We had a special $81 rate, and it was definitely a good value for the money.
