“The best from SANTORINI”

Excellent value for money hotel in the centre of Fira. Very friendly staff and always is ready to help with advice.

Bedrooms are typical greece with excellent air con, shower is clean with good water pressure!

Pool area is small, but clean and we were provided with free towels for beach and pool!

Breakfast is basically continental, very fresh and contains Greek feta, Greek omelets with domates. mmmm Yum!
As I mentioned before staff is very friendly, they helped us a lot. They recommended many nice places for diner and chilling out, once found volcano tour for us and helped to rent car. There are free garage and free internet. Also they have computer at reception if you need.
Djakyzi is fantastic after long trip! hot water, massage, relax - all that you need.
Location is perfect. You need only 9 minutes of walking to get to Fira center.Roads are safe and not busy at night so you wont face any problem to go back late.
If you are looking for clean hotel, good location towards Fira, friendly staff and reasonable price, I would highly recommend only this hotel!

““Great Service, Good Location!””

My husband and I arrived at the Amerisa based on the reviews of others who had recently stayed there. We couldn't have stayed at a more lovely place in Santorini, especially for the price!
There was always someone helpful up at the front desk reception area, and everything we asked for was given to us quickly. Georgos is very helpful- assisting with booking boat trips, transfer to the port and recommended places to go and restaurants. The price is amazing for what you get...the apartment was spacious and very very clean.. Good location! Less than 7min walk to the town, bus stop. Free airport transfer and coffee in the mornings. Close to everything in Fira! If you rent car or atv's be sure they are brink from hotel. The pool is small, but nice and real us photos. I would stay here again for cheap/budget, reliable accommodation on another trip to Fira! I would definitley recommend!!

“Stay somewhere else!!!”

Santorini was the last island of our trip and after having great hotel experiences in both Athens and Mykonos, we expected the same from Amerisa. Upon arriving we knew that would not be the case.... it was basically an expensive hostel. The beds were rock hard and pillows, if you want to call them that, were as flat as the sheet. The room smelt and the bathroom sink was backed up, not mention the loud speaker of Greek prayer or something that went off every hour from up the road. The pool was about the size of my bathtub at home and people’s rooms were on both side of it, not exactly a place you want to relax.

The only positive thing I can in the review is that the hotel is close to town... but so are many other hotels that are much better.

Overall... stay somewhere else.... I guarantee you will find a nicer hotel for less... I wish we had known this before booking it.

“Lipstick on a pig:”

I generally don’t like publishing bad reviews on businesses unless absolutely necessary, but in this case it was warranted. I believe this property is marketed as a 4 star property and I was excited when I browsed their website as I expected something equivalent. Although the pictures will have you believe this is a boutique resort and spa, it’s more in line with a best western so curb your expectations. It is located conveniently from central Fira which is about a 10 minute walk. Also, be warned that the hotel lies on a main road that curves around the property so you will constantly hear traffic, honking, and locals with their megaphones shouting political propaganda (probably regarding the greek debt crisis) at all hours of the night. The pool on the 2nd floor and breakfast were ok.

We booked 3 nights here and stayed on the ground floor. The minute we walked into the room we smelled sewage and ultimately figured out the septic tank that was below the room in the parking garage was leaking. The smell was so awful that we barely slept that night and complained to the owner George in the morning. George assured he would look into it while we were out for the day. When we returned, the sewage smell was still there and we didn’t want to take any more chances on a second night, not to mention the health hazards of inhaling septic tank fumes. The last thing you want to do on vacation is stress that you may have to come home to a hotel room that smells of feces and get sick. We ended up checking out and requested a refund from George for the 2 nights we did not stay. Although we were not happy with the first night, we did sleep in the beds and used the bathrooms so felt it fair to pay for that night. George would not budge based on the policy that there are no refunds for an early check out regardless that he hadn’t provided what any average vacationer would expect: a clean hotel room without septic fumes. I’ve resorted to disputing the charge with my American Express for the 2 nights. Not exactly what I wanted to do, but felt that I was cheated and treated unfairly by the Amerisa Suites owners.

Bottom Line: We ended up finding a nicer hotel, closer to town, and cheaper without the downsides of Amerisa Suites. I wouldn’t waste my time staying here when there are better deals to be had and owners that conduct themselves with ethical business practices.

“VERY NICE, BUT A BIT OFF THE BEATEN PATH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

My son and I stayed at this very nice hotel back in May, 2011. Upon arriving the hotel owner greeted us and was very pleasant. We told him what we wanted to do for the 3 days and 2 nights we were going to be there and he helped us tremendously and brought out a map and pointed out, on the map, where we should go and how to get there.
The room itself was very nice and comfortable and had a nice bathroom as well.
Breakfast was very nice, fresh and in a room that overlooked the ocean (but on the wrong side of the island).
The swimming pool was very small and only good for dipping in and out if you get hot.
The walk to town might only be 10 minutes away, but the walk is all uphill, so if you are not in shape or have difficulty walking up hills, this walk is not for you.
Overall, we liked staying here, mainly because the owner was always at the front desk and was always helpful (you do not find this in many hotels so this part was great).
Yes, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.......but be aware, as another reviewer stated, it does face the ocean but the wrong side of the island.
