There are many reasons that make the Villa Anemone our recommended choice of accommodation in Fira, and indeed in Santorini.
The property is approximately 10 minutes on foot from the centre of Fira, but it’s downhill on the way back and we preferred being situated on the outskirts of the town.
There are lovely sea views from the rooms at the front of the hotel, we also enjoyed the view of the church opposite and looked forward to the return each evening of the donkeys who work in the town taking tourists from the cruise ships up to the main town and back again.
The family made us feel very welcome from the moment they collected us on arrival from the airport, they provided recommendations for restaurants, for island excursions and car hire and made the booking arrangements for us. Argyro, who dealt with our booking and Rafaeilia who attends the running of the Anemone were particularly efficient and very helpful.
The cleanliness of the property was faultless and our room although basic was also very clean with linen and towels changed frequently. The pool was also kept spotlessly clean and appeared to be very well maintained.
All in all, a good base from which to explore the island, we felt the hotel provided very good value for money and would be very happy to stay there again.
